HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people that are traveling to my city, and likewise to meet people in their cities during my travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I mostly use the website just to meet people.

I live far from the city and find it inconvenient to host. And when I'm traveling, I usually book in homestays or hotels, whichever is available.

However in one of my travels to Palawan, Philippines, I found myself without any of these options and luckily I remembered I was on CouchSurfing. I found a gracious last minute host, who it turned out I had a common friend with and shared more than a few interests, including advocacies in education, film, and volunteering, to name a few.

It was quite a pleasant experience.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

I traveled solo to Buscalan, Mt. Province in the Philippines to get my tattoo from the revered, Whang-Od, also known as the last "mambabatok" or traditional tattooer in the country.

She employs the hand-tap method using the thorn from a calamansi or pomelo tree.

While many people have already done this, I traveled through a not-so-popular route. I almost got lost a long the way. I miscalculated my schedule and it took some time but I got to see places other people have never been to.

I want to do it again. :)

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

People who love life not because their life is perfect, but because it is flawed - they have struggled, maybe even lost but choose to triumph over it. Scarred people can also be beautiful. ;)

I'm a stickler for cleanliness especially in other people's homes. I can do a bit of cooking and cleaning. I have many stories to tell.
