To remove myself from everything I'm used to and see who I am without those things.

ABOUT ME

I'm India, a young woman from the USA. I'm taking time off of school trying to figure out who I am. The urge to leave and explore is getting too strong and I just have to see what else is out there.

PHILOSOPHY

My brother once told me, "If you're going to go to school, go to school. If you're going to travel, travel. But whatever you do, make sure you do it because you want to do it, not because anyone else tells you to."
I don't know what my path is in life, but whatever it is, I know that I won't regret anything.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I'm getting ready to leave home and go off to Thailand. I would love to meet for coffee before I leave in January, even though I can't host anyone right now.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None. I've slept on plenty of couches and blow-up mattresses over the years at friends houses and relatives houses, and even my own house. But unfortunately no actual surfing experience, either on couches or on surfboards...

Interests

As I like to say, I am a "foodie" meaning I love cooking and being cooked for and food in general. I am right now very interested in thai food and am trying to teach myself how to cook it. I probably eat thai food made by myself or in a restaurant at least 6 times a week.
I'm also a big movie freak. I love movies. I watch all types whenever I can.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I love all music. Always up to new suggestions. I love anything from Cory Hart, to Frank Sinatra, to Mumford and Sons, to Macklemore.
Movies: I love SO MANY MOVIES. It's so hard for me to choose which are my favorites. Though, my top two will always be Dark Crystal and Moulin Rouge.
TV: I don't watch much TV, but lately I've been into Psych, Glee, How I Met Your Mother, and Game of Thrones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 8 I lived in for 4 months in a village in Transylvania. It was life changing. Instead of being a slightly spoiled American child, I became this village girl who swam in creeks and rode bicicles through fields and woke up at 5 to go get fresh eggs, bread and milk from an old lady down the road. It was wonderful.

Teach, Learn, Share

When worker bees mate with the queen bee, they die in the middle of the reproduction process. (I learned that at science camp when I was 12.)
The word "Alphabet" comes from the greek letters "Alpha" and "Beta". (I guess most people already knew that, but I only learned it a few years ago...)
It takes two to Tango, but there's no limit for the Macarena.
Also, I now know from personally hearing it, that a cougar shriek sounds like children yelling or like a child calling out.
