About Me
We also host !! - check out my boyfriend Mitch's profile (https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/mitchell-rosser)
When I was a toddler my mum told me that if I was naughty the gypsies would come and steal me, so I packed my bags and waited to join the them - I’ve had that same wanderlust ever since !
I'm currently a full-time student x English tutor x cafe worker that wants to learn as much as I can & forge as many wholesome connections as possible in my brief but miraculous time on this beautiful little planet :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm a big believer in storytelling as the fabric of our society, so just as our ancestors have, I am keen to exchange stories with fellow CSers.
Mitch & I spent 3 months travelling in a van through North America and were astounded by the immense generosity of complete strangers, who offered us a temporary home, hearty meals & fascinating conversations. Now that we're back in Sydney, we can't wait to offer up a little sanctuary & reciprocate that hospitality.
As most people on here, I obviously love travelling, learning new languages, and getting a personal, often off-the-beaten-track understanding of a place's culture and history. In sharing it with others, it will also be lovely to fall back in love with my home city that I have naturally become a bit jaded by :)
Here's a little quote from Dharma Bums:
“I see a vision of a great rucksack revolution thousands or even millions of young Americans wandering around with rucksacks, going up to mountains to pray, making children laugh and old men glad, making young girls happy and old girls happier, all of 'em Zen Lunatics who go about writing poems that happen to appear in their heads for no reason and also by being kind and also by strange unexpected acts keep giving visions of eternal freedom to everybody and to all living creatures ...”

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Aw man almost everything, including country !! From jazz & blues to rock & roll to reggae to psychedelic to folk music. My most played at the moment I've really been into Daniel Caesar, Phoebe Bridgers, Red Hot Chilli Peppers & Fontaines DC.
Books:
I've been trying to get into the classics right now :) My all-time favourite reads are Giovanni's Room, Picture of Dorian Grey, Just Kids, 1984 & Dharma Bums
Films:
I've recently gotten Letterboxd & have learnt to LOVE watching and reviewing a bunch of films. I love films with a bit of whimsy I think.
Almost Famous, Into the Wild, La La Land, Whiplash, Marcel the Shell with the Shoes On, Cha Cha Real Smooth, Frances Ha, absolutely anything Wes Anderson (cliche I know sorryy), Studio Ghibli, and obviously Surf's Up (If you disagree with this last one I don't know if we can host you ...).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spending 3 months driving around the Mystery Machine across the western half of North America - camping, hiking, snowboarding & couch surfing. This was especially special for me as I had the opportunity to show my boyfriend a bunch of places I used to visit all the time growing up :))
Teach, Learn, Share
I've recently started dance classes again so perhaps I could share some of my moves with you !!
I'd love to exchange all sorts of travel stories with you, I also have some cool quotes up my sleeve. Since I study wildlife, I know a decent amount about our gorgeous Aussie wildlife if you are curious :)
I did grow up in a Croatian household, so it would be a terrible sin if I didn't share some sort of snack or food with you guys!! I kinda suck at cooking BUT Mitch & I (as a team) make a scrumptious Aussie big brekkie that we would love to share !!
