About Me

UPDATE!

I have not been active on couchsurfing for some years - but hope to be again soon. I have small house in north of Copenhagen, but otherwise live in the city. Unfortunately, there is very little chance that I can host you - but feel very free to get in touch - maybe I can help you out, at least with information of Copenhagen and North Sealand.

All the best! Jens

CURRENT MISSION

to hear the voices of nature

ABOUT ME

Quite young, I stuck out my thumb and hitch-hiked to largest, wildest forest I knew. Sitting there in the perfect darkness I felt small, lost and scared. And very free. I had realised how easily I could go anywhere. Just by sticking out my hand. And so I've been doing that for some years. Realising the World has generous resources of good and rewarding people.
When not off hitch-hiking, I've been studying biology in Copenhagen. Biology and botany. Plants and Us. The Natural Sciences. It gives me a great kick to teach others about the wonders of the world, especially to children. I've come to see plants as key to understanding the depths of nature, and our nature, and find such joy in it. The (organic) environment surrounding people is a key to understanding folks. Everybody use them. Plants. Plants prevade all aspects of peoples lives! We eat them, drink them, wear them, live in them. Plants we use for everything; build houses and all sorts of structures of them , collect them for their medicinal and beneficial qualities to us (handed down through thousands of years of tradition), your essential cereals, stables, vegetables, fruit, fresh, dried or imitated, and inspiration (not only O2). Plants are a way to earning a real and practical empathy of people and understanding one another. Our relation ship to the natural world is deep and complex, but we still haves much more to learn .

(Ethno)botany gives me a great drive to travel, see and learn and learn and approach the world and its plants and its peoples.
