About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To Eat, Drink and be Merry. Preferably in as many countries as possible.

ABOUT ME

Oh hey! I didn't see you there. My name is David. Nice to meet you. What do I do with my time you ask? I draw, cook, ride bikes, garden, juggle, and I like to tell people I play the ukulele. Where have I traveled you ask? I somehow managed to finish the camino de santiago de compostela, I've lived on vineyards in Germany and gotten lost as shit in Rome. I spent some wonderful time on a farm in Normandy and am headed to Sweden and Berlin this winter.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy directly contradicts itself. Exactly half of me believes I am not who I used to be. That my past actions do not dictate what I do in the present. The other half firmly believes that my current self is a direct result of all of the things I have done in my life. I also believe that most people have such blatant contradictions in their lives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Couch surfing helped get me out of a pretty tight situation in Europe. It involved an awful Californian woman stealing my credit card and leaving me with 0 dollars for almost two weeks. That was fun. But, i met some really amazing people during those two weeks. So, it worked out. Now, it's my turn to return that favor.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with the most gracious and accommodating man in Spain and a wonderfully helpful Tahitian man in Paris. I lived with some incredibly gracious Germans. A Spanish man in Denmark taught me one of the simplest, most delicious deserts I've ever had.

Teach, Learn, Share

When you stretch a canvas, always start in the middle of the side then move outwards from there. Do small amounts on each side then rotate and start another side until its all done. Same goes for mounting watercolor paper.

Boil Barley for half an hour, add some wheat grass, sugar and lemon boil for another few minutes then drink the water. Its delicious and spectacularly healthy. And you can eat the barley. Pretty delicious too.

Substitute a banana for butter in cake recipes.

Best drink I've ever had. 1 part dark rum, 1 part pineapple juice, 2 parts Champagne. Drink over ice.
