About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learn Spanish as well as I know English - Learn poi well enough to get in to festivals for free :-D
ABOUT ME
Alternative, up for random activities, amusing, friendly.
PHILOSOPHY
"Regret for the things we did can be tempered by time; it is regret for the things we did not do that is inconsolable."
Having said that, happiness is its own reward - if i'm enjoying spending time doing nothing much more than watching tv and playing cards then that's what i'll do :-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
However I can - I only open up my couch for small periods at a time because I got completely swamped by requests and trying to figure out which ones I could accept when I first started - guess London's a pretty hot place to visit...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted once and been to a couple of meet ups - am currently heading to brussles and trying to get in contact with people there.
Interests
Hmmmm... why not everything?
- festivals
- tv
Music, Movies, and Books
Ok, this is going to end up as a pretty weird list...
Movies - The Fantastic Mr Fox, L A Confidential, Memento, The Wedding Crashers, 21 Jump Street, The Game, Sin City, Micmacs, The Matrix, pretty much all animations (Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks/Studio Ghibli/Don Bluth)
Music - The Shins, Caravan Palace, Johnny Flynn, Gaslight Anthem, The Naked and Famous, The Decemberists, The Cat Empire, Fleet Foxes, Bob Dylan, Tallest Man on Earth, Electric Swing Circus, Bellowhead, Dry The River. Generally Alternative / Indie Rock, almost all Big Band and Swing Music, folk rock and the more musical end of Electroswing!
Books - Mostly sci fi or fantasy or crime. Terry Pratchett is underrated. Yes I know he's incredibly famous, successful and rich, I don't care, he's still underrated :-p Currently reading Kafka On The Shore after reading Norwegian Wood and getting into Murakami's style. The best book i read recently was Shutter Island, if you haven't seen the film then definitely read the book!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band and seen a needle wink its eye...
ok seriously, I don't know how to choose something to put here :-s I'm more concerned with adding to the list than ranking it in order so let's go make a new entry :-)
Teach, Learn, Share
Could teach a bit of beginner poi - and happy to exchange and learn Spanish with anyone! Can teach English as a foreign language :-)
