my name is Indra. I'm from Indonesia. I was born and grew up in Balikpapan, East Kalimatan but currently I'm living with my small family in Yogyakarta.

I'm independent backpacker. I'm a Moslem and I don't drink any Alcohol beverages and food contains with pork. Sorry 🙄.

You don't have to give me city tour, pay me a food & drink if we hanging out together. But don't chose expensive one too.

I work remotely and teach online classes at evening, maybe I need your wifi If you're willing to share. If not so, please let me know which affordable Cafe with good wifi around your place or maybe I have to buy local provider. Possibly I stay the whole day at your place if I had something to do or go out during the day back before evening.

I'll follow what conditions that you have as a host. Just let me know so early so possible. No worries

ABOUT ME

I love traveling since I was baby. No kidding, because all of family member have sense of traveling and adventure not only Indonesia but a few countries before I was born. My grand father have been hitch hiked a cargo ship and hide in a compartment. He was 14 years old and ran away from his village during World War 2 in Indonesia. My father have been hitch hiked a steam locomotive to go his school which is 10 KM far away in a village near volcanic mountain Semeru in East Java.

I have obsession to travel around the world and visiting some historical places that I have ever learnt and read before. So far I've been visited some places in Germany, from castle, fortress, and house of famous figures Johann Sebastian Bach, Beethoven, Goethe, et al. I have so many incredible experiences in Germany during visiting some historical places. I have been invited by German family in Germany due to my enthusiasm about history of the places. The German are so friendly and told me many things about the places and their cities. At the end I always invite them for visiting Indonesia too especially East Kalimantan.

I love traveling and meet new people who want to swap their traveling stories or tell me about their places. Cheers...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I know this community from my ex girlfriend or wife and his CS friends. I know and asked her after read some blogs about traveling in India. Until I found a few blogs whose mention about CS community. I was just curious and find information about CS. Then I decided to join. Actually long time before I met my wife, I already host some students exchange and Indonesian friend of mine in Germany in Yogyakarta.

I traveled a lot but never know this community. If I know this community before, maybe I can visit some countries in Europa during my studies in Germany.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have mostly good experiences with this community, but I have some experiences before I know this community since 2008. I hosted many tourist from Europe and US. I can't count how many surfers I have hosted before I joined CS. I was actively and support my wife as ambassador at this community since 2014 until 2019. Start from 2020 I never used Couchsurfing anymore because to busy at my new job in Yogyakarta.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

When I was in Germany, I saw many amazing and incredible historical places like Wartburg castle where holy bible has been translated from Latin to German by Martin Luther.

I live in the city where the cathedral church was the oldest church in Northern Europe and the coronation of 30 German Kings and 12 Queens.

Visiting and hiking around the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Germany

Swimming with Manta ray and stingless jelly fish in Sangalaki and Kakaban Island. The Manta rays were disappeared almost 1.5 year.

I have a girlfriend, a wife, a best friend, a travel mate and she is backpacker too....

I travelled to India with her too.... yeeeaaayyy

My wife and me could pass the Taj Mahal with local price, not tourist entry fee, lucky me because my face look like an Indian guy... lol

Walk from Mumbai CST to Indonesian Consulate in Mumbai until my wife's feet cram

Arguing with some Indian guys in the sleeper class train because they looked at my wife while she was sleeping

Walking and holding same Umbrella with my couple during hard rain until our clothes getting wet in Cochin Kerala India

In June 2024 I'm going to Singapore, Philipines, Hongkong, Macau and Malaysia in almost 2 weeks with my wife and my 7 years old.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

During my study in Germany, I learn how the German government protect their nature. Their habit like bring own plastic bag in supermarket. I always do the same thing in Indonesia and teach my relatives to refuse plastic bag and bring their own plastic bag. I always share what I think cool and useful in my social media like facebook, twitter, path.
