Born and raised in Mumbai, India. Went to college in Northeast India (a paradise for nature lovers). Studied Chemical Engineering and Sociology. Currently studying Public Policy focusing on environmental sustainability, a just energy transition, and climate finace in Durham, North Carolina, US.

I like understanding different societies and meeting new people. I'm passionate about social, racial, economic and environmental justice and human rights.

When I am not working/studying, I like to read, hike, hangout with friends or plan a travel adventure!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's a great way to make new friends through traveling/hosting. I have both stayed as a guest and hosted others through CS multiple times and it has allowed me to gain a holistic travel/cross-cultural experience by providing visibility into people's lives in a different society.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Like exposing myself to different styles of music but I have developed a liking for British Rock, Pop, and Indian Classical music over the years.

Books and Movies: Like those that highlight the interplay of sociological identities through the depiction of ordinary human lives.

Teach, Learn, Share

My mom says I cook fine Indian food. I would certainly be delighted to either help my hosts with cooking or cook an Indian or American dish for my hosts.

Would be glad to share my travel, educational and professional experiences and at the same time learn about the experiences of my hosts. Can share my understanding of the Indian and American societies. As someone who studied and loves Sociology, I like to understand different societies and relate it to what I have learned.

Can teach basic Yoga. If needed, can teach English, Math and Science. Have previously volunteered to teach both high school students and adults.
