I'm studying History of Art in Vilnius Academy of Arts and working in the National museum of Lithuania as a museologist. I'm also part of voluntary team of architects, historians and art critics named "Ekskursas" and together we organize various excursions and free events in Kaunas. At the moment, I live in Paris but I have explored every part of my hometown Kaunas and that means I can recommend loooooots of cool places to visit even if I'm not currently there. From cozy bars to abandoned hospitals and other architectural wonders!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love traveling and CS gives an opportunity to experience the places through local eyes, find new friends, collect new crazy stories and sometimes discover places where you would never ever go without CS.

Interests

I am interested in things that are well... interesting. All the endless possibilities of curiosity. The best part is trying to find interesting points in the fields that seem boring at first.

Music, Movies, and Books

It depends on my mood. Usually, I just immerse myself into the melody and don't pay attention at all to song or band names. However, I prefer post-punk, rock, darkwave, minimal synth music. Joy Division, She Past Away, Kino, Lebanon Hanover and Scratch Massive are currently on my playlist. But I would sacrifise my soul for Chopin's nocturnes as well. I guess my favourite movie is Ida as I can quote it in Polish even if I don't speak the language. Among others that I know by heart are Dead Poets Society, Only Lovers Left Alive, Seventh Seal, 12 Angry Men. My reads vary from studies of Hannah Arendt to Leo Tolstoy and Romain Gary. I just have read too many books to name the one I love the most.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Slept in a collapsing barn full of hay, stared at the full moon and meteors through the roof, got pneumonia, no regrets.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my thoughts with others and listen to theirs. I guess these discussions on various topics can teach us a lot and this is why I'm on CS. And of course I can always make a traditional lithuanian pink soup.
