Overview
About Me
My 12-year old nephew recently described me as the hippie peace loving aunt and from a child's perspective I suppose I am. I would more describe me as free-flowing and adaptable. I'm not much of a planner and feel that life will work out and even when we feel like it doesn't - there's generally a great story to tell! Professionally, I am an academic advisor at Iowa State University and my educational background is in Psychology. I love to travel, cook, and entertain. I enjoy the bar scene or doing karaoke, but I also love watching Netflix on the couch with my wife and dog.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been fortunate to travel afar while staying with friends and family. Currently, I'll be experiencing a country where I know NO ONE! I'm excited and thought this would be an amazing opportunity to finally experience couchsurfing - with strangers!

Music, Movies, and Books
I really enjoy 90s music, but also try to stay current on new music. While I listen to many different genres of music, my favorites would have to be R&B and Hip Hop.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have biked across the entire state of Iowa (~400 miles) over a 7-day period and more recently ran (as part of a relay team) across Iowa over a weekend. I am not an athlete and had minimal training before each event and therefore this really is AMAZING!!!
