About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travelling nomad trying to figure out what I want from life. Plan on learning by meeting, hanging out with and drinking with like minded (and completely different) people from around the world.

ABOUT ME

My name is Indy. Melbourne born and raised but in touch with my Estonian heritage. I'm bi-lingual with possibly the most useless European language.

I have done a couple of extended back packing trips across Europe and Asia and have been lucky to squeeze in a few others the North and South America while slaving away at my 9 to 5.

PHILOSOPHY

There is two times in life. Now and too late.

You should try everything at least once.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love the money can't buy experiences. So when using couch surfing or staying with a friend of a friend i get the most fun filling in for your indoor soccer team, or favourite Cafe.

There was more than once complete strangers showed me great kindness and helped me out when I was travelling, I totally believe in travel karma and hosting when I can is a small way to give back to the community.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've used couchsurfing to surf a couple of times. I like how its a much more personal experience than just another night in a hostel meeting people.

I've done a little bit for the community by hosting half a dozen people or so when i could when i was melbourne based.

Interests

I get a kick out of trying anything new and different.
BIg fan of almost all sport and nature. Hiking, kayaking, football/basketball , exploring caves are always a winner so do enjoy active people.

Culturally - food and history are my thing. Being from melbourne i obviously would kill for a good cup of coffee at any time and am somewhat handy in the kitchen.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music- EDM, indie, progressive.
Current favourites would be Rufus, Arctic monkeys, Red hot chilli peppers. Chet faker. Miike snow.

Movies- this is my biggest weakess. I'm notorious for not seeing some of the classics which I really should have by now.

Only books i can remember reading in the recent past are the power of now, fabric of the cosmos and gone girl...(definitely not my strength if the newspaper doesn't count)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

-hiring a car in winter and driving to Buzludzha monument in Bulgaria (look it up.. Insane!)

Learning to ride a motorbike in saigon and riding 3500kms to the Chinese border.

- not getting gored during the running of the Bulls.

-any of the half dozen amazing hikes i did in Sth America

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm just a nice guy willing to give anything a go. I can share a good travel story or 2 and i know a bit about the history of the places I've visited.
There is no such thing as a bad experience as long as you survive and have a good story to tell at the end.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good travel stories.
Estonian lessons.
A friendly face to buy you a coffee as reward for takin ne to your favourite cafe.
Someone new to party with.
