About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Become more free with each day that goes by

ABOUT ME

Start immediately. Do it flamboyantly. No expectations.
this is what I wish.
on the way there, "do one thing every day that scares you" (emily dickinson) and remember that "today is the tomorrow you worried about yesterday and all is well"

PHILOSOPHY

"Everything works out in the end. If it's not working out, it's not the end." a brazilian saying, so I hear. Persistence is definitely something is in me.

and "still haven't found what I'm looking for" reaches far beyond a U2's lyrics for me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am just about to start. Looking forward to traveling, meeting people and hosting eventually.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't yet had any proper Couch Surfing even though I've crashed at various couches along the way. Meeting friends in various places is one great way to travel as far as I am concerned. Now, more than meeting old friends, I hope to make new ones.
Good experiences informing expectations include learning about off the beaten track places that are worthwhile; learning how to cook different things;...

Interests

Lindy Hop!!! Not practicing it enough these days, but it is definitely one of the best discoveries. Instant fun.
Cooking (and experimenting, have to be honest here)

and the commonplace reading, watching movies, unexpected great conversations and the like.

Beyond this apparently banal but key level of the everyday, I'm interested in people in society. How people go about a changing world, creatively and contradictorily. In spite of knowing extremely little about any of the following, radio and development as well as movement (of people, goods and ideas) lure me.

  • singing
  • cooking
  • baking
  • working out
  • movies
  • reading
  • traveling
  • socializing
  • surfing
  • track and field

Music, Movies, and Books

powerful movies, blanket music and books able to capture you regardless of busy train stations, buses or cafés around you.
I guess I can name some references that come to mind:

"Le fabuleux destin d'Amelie Poulain."
Monty Python's "The life of BRian" and "Quest for the holy grail"
the Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy
The Mysts of Avalon - Zimmer Bradley
"Embroideries" - Marjane Satrapi'
Milan Kundera's - Ignorance
No one writes to the colonel - Garcia Marquez
WHen the Garcia girls lost their accent
Blueberry Nights OST and other similar blanket music
Old Jazz (Slim Slam, Billly Holiday, Nina Simone, ...)
Avenue Q OST

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a beep-beep (a real one!)
New Mexico.
At one point I could sing a whole children's song in Tetswana.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you how to make a cake that needs no baking or a supersonic simple dessert (always useful, no?)
I'd love to learn a bit about your corner of the world.
