About Me

Live each day to it's full potential and see the world with more than two eyes.

I am Ines, born in Germany but have been all over the place and moved from my home of 4 years London to Beijing in 2013. I always wanted to live in Asia and experience a completely different culture and so far I think it was one of the best decisions I made.

I am a bubbly, outgoing and fun person - I like to talk and I talk a lot! :D

I love to explore new places, both the sightseeing spots as well as the hidden gems that only locals know!

Since my time is mostly divided between work, meeting friends and loving my pitbulls Ally and Jamie, I use any time I have left to go hiking, see movies and go party. I used to be quite the gamer (PC & console, a true gamer does not discriminate) but I don't have much time for it nowadays... however I will gladly engage in a discussion about the best games out there. Diablo II (PC) and Assasin's Creed (Xbox360) are my all time favorites respectively.

I am all about making new friends from all over the world so do say hello!

‘Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.’ - Albert Einstein

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love to Host & Surf and make the most of every day!
I do get A LOT of couch requests every day so I appreciate if you make an effort.
Unfortunately I can not always host people because of my busy schedule but I am happy to meet you for a cuppa if I can, just send me a message! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I love both hosting and surfing or just meeting up with people and it has been a great and enriching experience so far. I prefer staying with a host that I can actually spend time with and get to know because otherwise I might just go to a hotel. The whole point of CS for me is to get to know new people and see how THEY live in that city! Likewise I prefer to only host people when I have enough time to show them around, go for meals and parties! I hope everyone can have the best possible experience of the beautiful cities I live in!

I also organised events from time to time; I did a big CS picnic event in Beijing with more than 70 attendees which was awesome and hope to do many more in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love Superhero Movies (Marvel & DC) and Historical movies. So anything from Batman to Jane Austen... but also drama, documentaries, fantasy, action... and everything from Tim Burton!

Music: I love rock, indie and EBM music most but recently been getting into deep house and more electro.

Books: Ken Follet - Pillars of the earth, Akif Prinicci - Felidae, Martin - Game of Thrones, Jane Austen - Pride and Predjudice and Mansfield Park, The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson, Bill Bryson - A Short History of Nearly Everything

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped out of an airplane with more than 50 seconds free fall

Flew a four seat Cessna Airplane - without license

Posed for and with about 50 Chinese people for more than 30 minutes for a picture in front of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing! They just kept coming!

Jumped over the fence of a local pool at night to watch a meteor shower while laying in the water

Camped under the stars on the great wall north of Beijing

Drove a G-Class through the desert in Erdos, Inner Mongolia

Watched the new year fireworks from above on a mountain in Austria

Ate live Octopus in Korea

Rode horses along the lakes of Hebei Province

Went on a hot air balloon

Got lost somewhere in Poland and ended up drinking Vodka with the funniest people ever

Watched the sunrise after a crazy party in Korea on a rooftop

Teach, Learn, Share

I am all about learning and sharing knowledge! I would love to teach you anything you are looking to learn from me - maybe a bit of German or Mandarin Chinese, cooking and baking or drawing and painting (yes, you can learn it!).

I love photography but I would love to learn more about it so I would appreciate anyone who can teach me! ;) I have a Canon EOS 500D and 70D as well as a couple of lenses and equipment.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook pretty decent, tell a lot of funny stories about the stupid things that happened to me in the past and generally make you laugh and entertain! Also, I will try my best to find a little gift for you! Let me know if there is something specific you would like! :)
