********
I am an open-minded, communicative and empathic person, who loves to meet new people and share experiences and thoughts on life.
I´m bound to nature and love being out in the woods, walking barefoot most of the time. I'm riding my bike every day (using it as main means of transportation), love to do bodywork (Shiatsu, Grinberg, Feldenkrais, ...) and contact improvisation.
I worked in the movie/theatre/TV-business and am now chief editor and head of public relations in a bicycle-NGO.
Expert in nonviolent communication (Rosenberg) and holistic dance- and movement pedagogy. I'm crazy about dogs and work as dogsitter when my time allows it.
How others describe me:
amicable, broad minded, communicative, easy going, funny, independent, intellectual, loyal, understanding, warm hearted, sensual, straightforward, creative, sensible , strong, caring, social, compulsive, loveable, interesting, awkward, cute, vulnerable, radiant. "And she forgives everything - especially my late reply ;-)" (Florian)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because I love:
- getting to know new people
- cultural exchange
- sharing
- communicating
- hearing about other people´s lifestyles, passions, attitudes and feelings
- learning more about things I hardly or don´t know yet
- getting around
AND:
I want to travel alone more often and meet people along the way or in the country I´m travelling to.
"I´m hopelessly in love with people. That´s all I can say."
Interests
cycling (If you send me a couch request, please mention the name of one of my bikes: HARISMA, so I know you read my profile ;-)), nonviolent communication (Rosenberg; see: www.wegezurfuelle.net), contact improvisation, authentic movement, meditation, bodywork (Grinberg, Shiatsu,...), walking barefoot, getting to know myself better. Finding peace within myself. Horse-riding, running, football, fencing, swimming, inline skating, dancing (used to do ballroom, latin and swing, doing contact improvisation now), singing, movies (producing them as well as watching them), photography, literature, cultures, people.
I really like to touch people - I DO NOT mean that in a sexual way! I just think that our bodies are made to communicate with eachother and we´re all longing to be touched emotionally and physically. Sometimes a handshake or an embrace is all it takes to make us feel better.
Oh, and: be aware! I´m into photography, so I´ll take quite a lot of pictures.

Music, Movies, and Books
MOVIES:
I love BUSTER KEATON! So, my favourite movies will always be his silent movies. Concerning the "newer ones" I don´t really have THE ONE favourite movie. Due to my last job as a film reviewer I watched a lot of movies, so breaking it down to "the one and only" doesn´t really work for me. What I can say though is, that there are some movies, that really impressed/moved/got me, like for example "The Broken Circle Breakdown" (R: Felix van Groeningen, 2012), "La guerre est déclarée" (R: Valérie Donzelli, 2011) and "Des hommes et des dieux" (R: Xavier Beauvois, 2010).
BOOKS:
With books, it´s quite the same. Although admittedly I read far less books than I watch movies, I still couldn´t tell you a favourite one. Still: Kelly Bryson´s "Don´t be nice, be real" will always be on top of my list.
MUSIC:
A wide variation of almost everything.
Examples: Sigur Rós, Marillion, Porcupine Tree, Lucius, Steven Wilson, Sóley, No-Man, The Rolling Stones, The Who, Ludovico Einaudi, Billie Holiday, Morrissey, Parov Stelar, James Blake, Low Roar, Paul Kalkbrenner, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Kina Grannis, Kat Frankie, David Crosby.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
.) To live the life I want
.) Working and living with locals in Tanzania, Africa
.) Exploring cities, countries and islands with a bicycle
.) 1 month tour through China without tourist guide or native speaker
.) Climbing the Mount Horeb in Egypt by night to see the sunrise from the top
.) quitting a steady job to be able to do more of what makes me happy
.) Traveling alone (almost always)
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to communicate. That may sound plain, but I get high on deep/true conversations. There´s so much we can tell each other, so much we can hear when we truly listen. So much we can understand when we are really open to understanding. So much we can see when we are ready to open our eyes. To me, conversations are more than words filling the silence. They are a way of finding ourselfes within others, of seeing into someone´s soul, of realizing, that we all do have the same needs. We all want to be truly seen and heard.
Sometimes, the deepest way to communicate has no words. Sometimes it needs a ot of words to express our feelings. Either way, for me communication is always something amazing.
