Hi! I’m Benjamin, a curious and intellectually engaged traveler always seeking new experiences and ideas. My passions span across cognitive neuroscience, psychology, machine learning, complexity theory, and theoretical physics, which keep me exploring not just places, but ideas as well. I love diving into complex topics and finding connections between them, and I’m always up for a good conversation about cutting-edge theories. I conduct research at the Active Inference Institute under the mentorship of the Institute's Director Dr. Daniel Friedman. I also lead Rights Relationality for the Institute as a contributing member of the Gen 24 Research Team.

My journey has been full of learning—whether that’s through reading, research, or collaborating with others. I believe in balancing theory with practical application, and I enjoy sharing insights with those who are as eager to learn as I am. When I’m not geeking out over science and technology, you’ll probably find me on the road, discovering new destinations and enjoying the adventure of life.

I’m Benjamin, and I’m currently traveling over the next month as I prepare for some exciting lectures—one at the Active Inference Institute in October and another at the UCL Wellcome Centre for Human Neuroimaging in London with the Theoretical Neurobiology Research Group (TNG), led by the esteemed Professor Karl Friston, in December. I’ll be presenting my most recent research, including a new technology I’ve developed. On top of that, I’m competing for the ARC prize, so it’s a busy but exciting time in my career as a scientist. Traveling helps keep my mind sharp and inspired, and I love the fresh perspectives that come with meeting new people and exploring new places. I find that discovering new destinations keeps me grounded and motivated.

When it comes to books, I’m pretty immersed in academic life—I not only read college college textbooks, I make them. I have focused primarily on research across various fields. My reading list is heavily science leaning. I value deep dives into complex topics and I’m always open to a good conversation about new ideas and knowledge. I love music and connecting with people who have different interests and learning about their favorite things!

I’ve had the incredible opportunity to develop the first unified cognitive computing system, creating new mathematical frameworks to replicate how cognitive processes work in computational environments. I’ve also expanded ontologies in several scientific fields and received recognition from scholars across different disciplines. On top of that, I earned mentorship through the Active Inference Institute, where I’m conducting research under the guidance of Dr. Daniel Friedman. It’s been a rewarding journey so far, and I’m excited for what’s ahead!
