About Me

Oh hi!
I'm a hippie-weirdo. I enjoy trotting around, being nerdy, crafting and dancing. I am good at fixing things. Right now I am drifting around in the world, learning words and eating food, looking at the sky and walking extra slow. Otherwise I like to garden, read books, hang out and enjoy my work as a mechanic. Oh, and allowing myself to be absolutely crappy at new dance styles!

I am using CS because I want to get to know people when I travel, build relations. That is also key to knowing a place, I believe. I am familiar with hosting, but I've done so through Warmshowers; same concept as CS but for long distance cyclists, another interest that I have. So CS itself is pretty new for me.

I would love to hang out with my host/s, but I also like my alone-time, so finding a good balance is important for me. I would love to see your favourite places and hear your stories, be taken to parties and parks, but also to drift through the city alone, making my own ant trails.

I am dedicated to dance and have an interest in trying new dance styles. I would be extremely happy if I could be introduced to local dance communities or places where I can take classes. I do lindy hop, blues, afro and fusion, am learning tango, salsa, kizomba and k-dance, and would love to try all the rest of them, be it hip hop or folk dance.

Right now I am following my dream and backpacking through Africa. I have no plan but the intention of getting carried like a leaf on the wind, following the flow of life. I am curious where I will end up and who I will meet!

(Update 3.11.2024)
Preparing for bed in my tent among the sound of crickets and a waterfall a bit off, in a patch of forest just outside of Lavé in Guinée, belly full of donuts and banana.

(Update 15.6.2024)
Sweating in my couch host's room in the Gambia, listening to the rain against the roof. I am on a 2-week bike trip along this smiling coast, eating handfuls of peanuts and rice, then back to Dakar!

(Update 19.4.2024)
Right now finding myself in Dakar, Senegal, taking a lot of dance classes, French classes and writing my blog. 🥰

(Update 20.2.2024)
Currently staying in an orphanage in Noadhibou, giving some English classes but mostly resting and nursing myself back from a cold. 🤒

(Update 5.1.2024)
Currently waiting for my breakfast with my CS host in a gray Casablanca, having been in Morocco for about 1,5 months.

(Update 4.11.2023)
I have now been almost a month on the road and almost a week hitchhiking Europe, writing this from an abandoned half-barn, my shelter for the night, in the Italian countryside as the rain starts coming down softly all around me.

I don't have so many references here yet, but if you're curious about me you can also look at my instagram or my blog:

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to meet people. Just going to places isn't enough for me. I want to learn about the lives of the people there by sharing cultures, stories, food and time together. This is the best way to open your world and to learn, I believe.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

So many, too many! The way sky opens up, the way the sun sets beauifully all over the globe. The way even the most plain food tastes delicious when you're really hungry. I really like noticing and appreciating the little things. As for amazing things, I have done a few. Right now, I am proud of having hitchhiked over 5000 km from Portugal to Estonia on my first ever hitchhiking trip, most of the miles with lovely truckers. Another thing I am really grateful for and amazed by was being received and living with a Mozambican family for a month and a half, learning the language and about the daily lives. It expanded a lot for me, and is so far one of the most somber human experiences I have ever had.
Another: learning language, always. Currently taking baby steps in French, watching myself slowly go from barely getting through an introduction, to beong able to express my opinions, tell stories in past tense and dreams for the future. What a beautiful, humbling way of re-becoming a person!

What I Can Share with Hosts

My brilliant company, hippie wisdom, witchcrafts, opinions on art, tarot readings, help with building or fixing random stuff, animal care, good music, dance training, gardening. I love to cook together or for you, and makimg pancakes of almost anything is a speciality and big pleasure of mine!
