About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To grow, love life and laugh in the open air! Bring it!
ABOUT ME
Well, hi :) I'm Inge, 30ish, and graduated as an interior architect. The past four years I've spend a lot of time traveling, working and volunteering in Alaska, Canada, Patagonia and other parts of America. It was amazing! Now I'm back in Europe for a bit, figuring out what's going to come next.
I like to think I'm generally good-humored, positive, and pretty easy to get along with. Definitely interested in meeting other world citizens, as I'm sure we've got something to talk about.. :)
PHILOSOPHY
The mountains are calling and I must go.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Traveling connects people, and I really want to be a part of that. That feeling when a complete stranger welcomes you into his or her home or life, for whatever period of time, that is such a rich feeling.
So I want to participate in the CS project, in both ways. These days I will be looking for couches to surf (and I will do my best to be a good, fun, respectable and interesting surfer ;)), but once I'm back home from my journey... bring on the backpackers! :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Traveled in France with a friend a couple years ago; met a nice lady and her daughter in the train. When we told her where we were planning to go, she invited us over to her house, telling us that was much better place to go to. Turned out she lived in a huge beautiful old castle in the middle of nowhere! We spent a wonderful time there.
Interests
I'm a bit of a nature freak; I really enjoy walking, hiking, mountain climbing and nature photography. I am hoping that I can find those of you who also love the great outdoors, and that we might take a hike or short trip together! That way, you don't just get to see the country, you get to experience it.
And besides that, I love to meet up with friends for drinks or diner, snuggle on the couch with a book and a cup of tea, watch a movie or TV show (Grey's Anatomy!) with some good people, bake sweet things, (learn to) cook, share some music and so on :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Big fan of soundtracks! Official movie soundtracks, scores, songs from series, shows, commercials, etc. It helped me find a lot of great sing- and songwriters like Joshua Radin, José González, Joe Purdy, Brett Dennen, Jem, The Shins, Radical Face, Sufjan Stevens, etc!
And the instrumental scores from the musical wonders of course; Danny Elfman, Mark Mancina, John Powell, Hans Zimmer.
Which brings me to the piano minds of Yann Tiersen, Dario Marianelli, Philip Glass and Ludovico Einaudi. They inspire me to play the piano, although I play quite poorly :)
Movies; Garden State, 500 days of Summer, The Truman Show, Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain, A Beautiful Mind, Into the Wild, Elizabethtown, Forrest Gump, August Rush, 127 Hours, and many more!
And books.. Harry Potter! Yep, I'm a fan. I've indulged in this fantasy world far too many times, which leaves me seriously uneducated when it comes to books. I've put about 25 titels on my iPad in the good spirit that I might find time to read.. We'll see ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
• Slept outside in the open Norwegian winter air in -20C and 2 meter snow. Freezing cold but amazing!
• Spend two weeks sea kayaking in the Alaskan waters, away from society and all things man made. Saw a lót of whales!
• Hiked the entire Coastal Track in the Abel Tasman National Park in New Zealand. Three days in harmony with nature with nothing but our backpacks :)
• Competed and completed the Four Days Marches in the Netherlands 3 times: 160 km in 4 four days with 45.000 other international people.
• Worked with sled dogs in the Yukon in Canada!
• Lived in Denali National Park in Alaska! Best! Thing! Ever!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in learning more about the countries that I'm exploring now; your (native) culture, food, language and the people. I'm always looking for old family recipes to take home so I can impress my friends ;)
I would also love to meet some (fellow) nature photographers. As I am still learning a lot about this hobby of mine, I would appreciate any tips and tricks.
If you are interested and willing, I can tell you a lot about my country, Europe, design, creativity, coloring your life - and share my enthusiasm for the outdoors, photography, tea and Harry Potter ;)
