About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Go to the top of Mount Everest before I'm 58.

ABOUT ME

I love sports, mostly orienteering and rock climbing. I love forests, mountains and freedom. I want to travel all around the world.

After high school I graduated as a special needs assistant and few years later as a wilderness guide. Few years later I continued a bit more and I studied the bachelor of social services + kindergarten teacher from Diaconia University of Applied Sciences. I am interested in outdoor adventure education and special education.

I grew up in Oulu, Finland. I have lived few years in Helsinki, one year in a tiny village called Muonio in Finland's Lapland, two summers in Joensuu in Eastern Finland, a year in Australia and 3 months in Kathmandu, Nepal. I have traveled almost everywhere in Finland and Australia. At the moment I am travelling around New Zealand.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfed a couch in Netherlands, Italy, Estonia, Australia and New Zealand and went to a cs meeting in Italy, Finland, Australia and Netherlands.

When I lived in Oulu in a sort of a hippie community, we hosted some nice Couchsurfing guests. I've also hosted in Townsville, Australia.

Once I experienced a nudist home where we and everyone else dressed according to the code. This was topped off with some rubber ducks. Pure awesomeness.

Another time I hosted an awesome dude in Townsville whom I of course later met in Darwin since he was around. I also once met a great man in Milan who taught me tango in a couchsurfing event and who a year later hosted me in Melbourne and taught me some more!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music, movies and books. I can play a bit violin and piano and I singing but badly. I like horror movies and of course I love horrible Finnish movies. I read everything. Mostly maps.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got lost in a glacier, went to the highest mountain of Nordic Countries. I have been on top of Finland's, Sweden's, Norway's, Spain's, Great Britain's and Australia's highest mountain.

Teach, Learn, Share

In Finland there is sometimes -40 degrees and I'm still alive. I can roll in the snow, naked, and I'm still alive. I can teach you how to drink beer like a real Finnish man. Santa is from Finland. I can teach you how to survive Finland's dark winter.
