About Me
2018 UPDATE: I am living in Leeds, Uk. Will stay here for 3 years going and coming from Peru. I am doing my PhD here and I have a guest room I would like to use to host nice people. Send me a message if you are around Leeds. Well my PhD is in indigenous knowledge and climate change adaptation in the Amazon rainforest id Peru (but how tricky is Academia that I had to come to UK to study my own country...).
I am currently a bohemian explorer. My research is more focus now in trying to find a nice pub and a nice English beer I could enjoy. So I might be somehow of a party girl now, but I also enjoy coffee.
I will leave past description because is fun to read after time...
(ME IN THE PAST)
update: I am living in Lima now. just dont have the energy/time to update this profile. :(
Hi, I am Ingrid.
I grew up in Chanchamayo, it is a very small city in the rainforest of Peru. I lived there until I was 16 yo, when I had to move to Lima for being able to go to Uni. I lived in Lima for 12 years (wow, I just realize that). Anyway, I got a bit bored in Lima, with all the work and very adult responsibilities that I decided to move to the other part of the world and go back to study. I am such a nerd, love studying! This is how I ended up in Australia! Currently, I am doing a masters degree in development ('development what', you may think... well, it is a bit difficult to explain, but it has to do with analyzing poverty, inequality and all the depressing things that are happening in the world right now, yes! right now).
I am not a party girl. I love coffee and nice chats. There is always fruits in my breakfast, beer in my fridge and hidden desserts in my place.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
NO UPDATE NEED FOR THIS PART, still the same motivation.

I am so lucky that i could travel and meet different people, cultures, languages. I realized that my most precious memories of my trips are when I shared experiences with local people, so I just not visited touristic places, I got the chance to experience local home food, eating in local restaurants, understand the history of the place I am visiting, and so on. I found about couch-surfing, so I decided this is my way to give back to all those nice people that are in my precious memories.
Interests
UPDATE 2018: well, not doing that good with the vegetarian transition. Still wanted to do it, but I found really difficult to resist to Peruvian meat based food. So I am still cooking vegetarian but when I am out, I ate whatever I want. Sorry. transitioning is a mess up phase.
