ABOUT ME

We have been married over 10yrs now. We love life and people. We enjoy just about every bit of creation. We are on a journey to see what doors might open up for us. we have no agenda, just want to find what place we have in this world.
We currently have two children! Lynn 7yr old daughter, pure delight. Luke 4yr old son, pure delight.
I Caleb have been a plumber of 6yrs and Hannah has been a stay at home mom (doing some cleaning as side work). Also I teach plumbing in a trades program in Belmopan Belize. But currently we have made a big life change. We took a gap year, lived in Albania, explored the balkans and now are looking into finding where we will settle and put down roots. Like I said before, we don’t have much of an agenda or expectations, just seeing what doors might open for us.

PHILOSOPHY

This is a tough one since I feel like my philosophy is forming and will always be forming. But if I have to be pushed into saying something... Live fully where we are, in the moment. Love in the moment. Learn, discover, explore, expand our hearts. etc. etc. etc.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We love this community where we can share space and lives for a short period of time. We have surfed a decent amount and now have hosted even more. Hosting is an amazing way for us to "travel" more. It is so good for our kids to meet people from all walks of life and learn to be hospitable and kind to others. My kids are really the "hosts". They love showing people to their rooms etc. :) Now it’s our kids turn to experience surfing as well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have surfed and hosted. All of our experiences have been good, some better than others, but all good. We love it when we get to really make friends with folks and then see them again on return visits.

Interessen

we enjoy living simply and within our means, we like relating with others and learning about peoples lives, we have enjoyed our fair share of traveling - they usually came with some sort of purpose (like volunteer work) but some were just for pleasure, we really like hiking and getting out doors and being active--we both love to explore national parks,we enjoy athletics, my boy especially likes American sports, my girl likes to play house, read and play pretend with all sorts of things, both of them love being outdoors and being in the water, we like to continue learning, we love to be encouraging to others but most of the time we always feel like we are the ones being encouraged, we really enjoy being hospitable, we enjoy discovering new things about ourselves, about the world and about others. we think its fun getting along and respecting people that think WAY differently than us.
Interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, progressive business, counter-intuitive things.
Hannah loves to exercise and healthy living. She also is very adventurous in the kitchen, always trying different ethnic foods from around the world. She loves learning new things in the kitchen and enjoys everything to do with making food

Musik, Filme und Bücher

We are very eclectic and enjoy most all music. I would say my favorite genres are more folk, acoustic, indie stuff, and newly on the rise jazz. Movies, old films are cool, dramas and real life stuff is the best.
The kids like fun kid songs of course!
Our family favorite movies are two, Sound of Music and Mary Poppins.

Became parents! Being together as a family makes all these other fun things seem small in comparison.

Lehren, lernen, teilen

I believe that there is a God, and I believe that we can engage him outside of religion. I have been exploring this relationship with Him outside of religion for 9 years now and its been unexpectedly good.
