We are an 18 year old couple from New Zealand travelling across Europe by bike! We are using our trip, and any attention we get from it, to promote low carbon travel. Inka was born in South Africa and moved to New Zealand when she was 12, and Fabian was born and raised in New Zealand except for 9 months in Germany for an exchange programme.
We are both very interested in learning about the places we go to, be it food, culture, music or just the physical area!
We do not expect a bed at every host (although it'd be nice), and would just be appreciative of a spot to pitch our (freestanding, so won't ruin your lawn with pegs) tent if space is an issue.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

We think it's a good way to make friends and learn more about the area we are in, instead of hotels. Partially the same reason we are doing cycle touring, you get to be more in touch with what's around you all the time, instead of hotels, cars, trains etc. Fast and impersonal.

兴趣

Inka loves reading (everything she can get her hands on), but also enjoys the outdoors. She loves tramping, cycling, camping and healthy eating, but can definitely appreciate the indoors, a wee bit of a junk every now and then, and movies. She used to play piano, and is now very interested in learning more cello.
Fabian is crazy for sailing, cycling and anything outdoors basically! He also enjoys watching documentaries and listening ro podcasts. He is an avid pianist, with a piano diploma, and played the violin for 7 years. We are both vegetarian (but Fabian eats seafood), but are open to trying all foods if it's just for a taste of a local dish.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Fabian has seen the Northern Lights, and went overseas for an exchange for 9 months at the age of 15. Inka immigrated from South Africa to New Zealand. We have cycled across 16 counties now with over 8000kms under our belt, all by bicycle. We climbed 1500ms from sealevel in 15kms with most of it being about 10% gradient (by bicycle 😉)
