About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission is to be good. Contribute beauty to the world. Fall in love with everyone and everything. Be of service to others.
ABOUT ME
I have this image in my mind of The Little Prince aboard the Pequod. He's standing upon the bow tossing a lasso around Moby Dick's head. The waves are whipping against the sides of the boat. The stars are like cartoony whisps of light. Sometimes that's my image of myself.
In the real world, I'm someone who's trying to be a real, good person. I try to live spontaneously, but relish my routines. I teach at a Montessori School. I teach on the weekends at a non profit called Camp of Dreams. I'm the City Year Chicago Alumni Board chair; I help put on events for AmeriCorps alums. I'm a huge fan of National Service.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to be a good, real person. Relish spontaneity. Learn from others and teach them in return.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have friends who swear by Couchsurfing. They love the community.
I hope to be able to contribute by meeting great people whose couches I can occupy. And providing a great experience for people who want to occupy my couch.
I have several sociable roommates who love food and entertaining. I hope to be able to share our little community with real, good people who might be stopping by Chicago.

Music, Movies, and Books
The last one I watched.
Arcade Fire. Conor Oberst.
The Little Prince. Moby Dick. The Giving Tree.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Amazing Thing is always in front of me.
I've hiked the Grand Canyon, though.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like to sit at parks/beaches and make duct tape and paper flowers. I like to give them away to strangers.
I also enjoy writing letters with big questions; I leave them in coffee shops, restaurants, buses.
I also know a thing or two about book binding and papermaking. Not much, but enough to occupy your afternoon.
