About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Just try to do my bit to promote peace, health and Solidarity in the world. One couch at a time is just the start...
ABOUT ME
Born and bred in the midwest. Lived on to live on the East Coast for three years as a Nuclear Engineer. Quit that job and toured abroad for a year before going back to school. Pretty much a lifelong student and now a Doctor of Chiropractic.
Life is a journey right, and I embrace the journey and the unexpected opportunity that awaits around every corner. My true passion is brining solidarity to the world, primarily thru my hands, but not even close to being exclusive. Love a good read, run, beer, bike and quiet mediation. I'm willing and able to provide free spinal tune-ups to anyone I meet, especially those who are kind enough to open your doors.
I was living in Ghana as the Director of an international non-profit call Journey to Solidarity. However my wife and I recently moved to Colorado where we own and operate the chiropractic office "New Leaf Chiropractic and Family Wellness."
If you would like I would invite you to read more online at journeytosolidarity.org or www.newleaf-chiropractic.com
PHILOSOPHY
We are all rays of the same sun. Brothers and sisters alike. Live life with an element of compassion and tolerance for all irrespective of race, religion or other demographic. Never judge a book by it's cover, and for that matter don't ever judge the book. There is value in every moment in everything you do if you do it ethically and with pride. Always be honest with others. Be honest with yourself. Love everything you do and everyone you meet. We all have the ability to change the world, to heal each other. By loving each other and being aware of who and what we are this grass is laid for generations. Physically what we eat, how we move and how we think are vital for longevity and happiness. to supplement that idea, your body is a temple controlled by your nervous system, when is the last time you had it checked by Chiropractor? Hopefully early and often
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm pretty new, but I'm open to anyone and anything as long as there is compassion, patience and love at the core. Lord knows I've surfed enough on park benches, under trees and in train stations.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm new. But I am a professional couch surfer among my friends and family. Always willing to open my doors and walk through yours if you will have me.
Interests
First and foremost my family. I'm HAPPILY engaged, 31 and my family back in Wisconsin means the world to me. Building relationships with communities around the world by promoting social solidarity and health is my PASSION. A growing love for meditation and the quiet side of life. Although I still throw the occasional curve ball in just to keep it interesting. Traveling, period.
Once upon a time an competitive triathlete. Now just Running, Cross-fitting, swimming, biking, hiking and especially single track MTBR. Can't wait to find the next dirt road that winds between the trees in the quiet early dawn. Love the water. About 10 years ago I guided white water rafts professionally and prior to that rowed collegiately.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading 'Better' which is a book about living each day and doing everything, you guessed it, Better. My favorite books include '4 Agreements' 'As a Man thinketh' by James Allen and anything my Marianne Williamson, Thich Nhat Hanh' or Deepak. Just read 'Way of the Peaceful Warrior' which might make it up here also. Three Cups of Tea and Mountains Beyond Mountains (kind pattern my life after these two dudes; Greg Mortensen and Paul Farmer)
Music, never loved country, but I'm learning. Love cultural music. Pretty hooked on the West African beats right now. Guster is my favorite new band. Pink Floyd and Led for the 70's and Old Blue Eyes (Frankie) for the classics.
There is no one movie that I LOVE. However I'll always watch 'Major League' or any of the Lord of the Rings movies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Been born! That's the greatest miracle or all, as Dr. Manhattan pointed out in 'Watchmen'.
Smaller highlights include:
-Been on the inside of a Nuclear Reactor.
-Given large sums of money to total strangers with the idea it would be paid forward. It always has : )
- Started a non-profit so that anyone can share their gifts with the world.
-Was told I might never walk again after a broken ankle and subsequent long-term infection. Took it personally and have since been an All-American Triathlete.
-Been Homeless and unemployed and never been happier
-Remove barriers in peoples bodies so they can live a life of full potential.
-Two time Ironman finisher

When in doubt, always bring a 'Silk sleepsheet' when you travel. It's your best travel friend. towel, blanket, extra clothes, pillow, shade and even a bandage. It weights, what less than half a pound and fits in the palm of your hand. Great on cold and/or warm nights.
