ABOUT ME

I'm friendly, active, and always up for a good conversation. I like to learn about new things and new ways of looking at issues, and conversation is the best means for that, with writing a close second.

As for my travels, I've enjoyed the cafes and museums of Paris, the party scene and natural beauty of Reykjavik, the courtesy of the Japanese, the beaches of Miami, the easy going lifestyle of San Diego, the bars and clubs of New York City, and the rural landscape and tranquil, fresh-water ponds of Martha's Vineyard.

I'm very interested in politics and moving towards a more liberal society with a small, small, small government, or really no government. I don't need to be governed, and I don't want to govern my neighbors.

I recently started running barefoot on a nearby turf field. Feels great. Just ran a 5K in my vibram five-finger shoes.

I like the communal tables at restaurants.

PHILOSOPHY

I'll be able to do something after I do it, so I don't worry about whether I can do something before I start.

Love what you do. Don't worry if the money will follow. Nothing has to follow, if you love what you do.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

So far, I've met up with three couchsurfers to explore and have a meal.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Virginia: After staying at a backpacking lodge on the Appalachia Trail in Virginia, I contacted a fellow couchsurfer who showed me around the area. We hiked along a ravine overlooking the area and had some Chinese food in the local town. Very cool to connect with someone in the area.

Charleston: I met up with two couchsurfers for lunch, one was local and another was visiting.

Moved to San Francisco and placed my stuff in storage. After enduring rainy weather for three weeks, I left my stuff and drove south to San Diego and settled there. I returned to SF a few weeks later to grab my stuff. Lived in San Diego for a year.
