ABOUT ME

One of the baby boomers. Father a regular in British Army. Lived in Singapore and Hong Kong when young but dad retired from Army in 1958 and we settled in Glasgow. Left there when I was 22. Into computers and moving around. Lived in London, Israel, Vancouver. Then 2 years as coffee farmer in Hawaii followed by 7 years in San Francisco. Entered grad school in 1981, MA in 1983, MFT license in 1991. Married in 1989, divorced in 1996. Son born in 1989. Now semi retired and traveling. I have lived in Vietnam for a year and now I am visiting Singapore and Malaysia before going back to Europe for 6 months.

PHILOSOPHY

Letting go. Opening up. I believe in the wisdom of feelings but that has to be harnessed with mind. Not that I necessarily believe what my mind tells me. I am a Buddhist and so I see mind as a useful tool that has gotten too much power.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Currently I am traveling and I would like to meet and stay with interesting people. When I get more settled I would be glad to host. Where that will be is hard to tell at the moment.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met many people traveling. My favorite method of transportation used to be hitch hiking but I don't do much of that these days. That used to be a good way of couch surfing.

兴趣

I like meeting people, I like to go to the seedier parts of town, I like life music especially fusion (rock/arab, african/european, etc). I like low dives and the people (some of them) who go there.

Rai music, rock, African Hi Life,. Indie movies, anything by Kubrick or Kurosawa. Science fiction mostly in books but pretty much any genre.

Parthenon by moonlight. Sailing down African coast. Mauna Kea, Hawaiian beaches, my son being born, Jerusalem, flying over Mt St. Helen. Being alive.
