Overview
About Me
I am an adventurous, thoughtful, energetic person who loves art, cooking, learning. I love nature and photography, film, people, understanding the mind. I enjoy the sense of awe and wonder wherever I can get it. I love cooking- curries, bolognese, fancy soups, tagines.
Travel is one of my biggest passions along with making art, the arts, cooking, hosting dynamic dinner parties, nature, music, science, consciousness, yoga, paddle boarding, SCUBA, cross country skiing, hiking, animals, and much more. The wonder I feel when traveling, the novelty, the immersion, the curiosity, the exhaustion, the smells, tastes, sights all fill my spirit to the brim. The stories, the beautiful people, the intense moments, the laughter…..
Fairness is central to my thinking as is social justice. Protecting the vulnerable and the planet are vital efforts in my life. I wish I could give up eating meat. So far 0 for 6.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Travel is such a passion of mine and I usually am able to go on one big trip each year. Getting to know people intimately in other countries is such a gift. I do wish more women we're hosting. Guys are fine, I think I'd enjoy a female host better.
Getting out of this country especially now is vital to mental health and survival!!! Hosting folks from other countries reminds me that humanity is out there and I get to sample it in my home.
Interests
I am curious about almost everything except math (applied) and for some reason, astronomy. Not crazy about military history, but love to do sports ( tennis, yoga, kayaking, paddle boarding, scuba, cycling), people, reading, art, music, good food, intellectual stimulation.
Love film, cooking, nature, economics, politics (though it can be negative to dwell on), world events, anything new to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books
Overwhelming to consider. I'll just name one of each I've enjoyed: Miles Davis, Cinema Paradiso, and The Emperor of All Maladies: a Biography of Cancer. Ok I loved Styrons book The Confessions of Nat Turner. Beasts of the Southern Wild, Tampopo, Being John Malkovich, Amy Winehouse, Sting, Ursula 1000, I love film-Brazil, Titus, Ran, The Piano, Apocalypse Now, sooooo many!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Brought a start up company from about 150K to 1.8 million within 2 years by myself in Manhattan.
Saved my tennis partner's life on the court after he had a heart attack. That was quite an experience for me. He doesnt remember it. Good for him!
Teach, Learn, Share
So many ways to get from point A to B. Infinite ways to get from an unnamed point to another. Learning how others see things, make sense of things, maneuver things and come out different is very cool. Examining life and enjoying the unexamined times both are compelling. I like to share my presence, my undeniable wit, my aesthetic aplomb and verve. Are you up to this? 😊
What I Can Share with Hosts
