Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My first couch surfing experience was by accident in Athens. I was on a ferry to an island, but was being followed by an adamant American guy. I decided to stay on the ferry all the way to Athens with some girls I met, and lose the creep in the process. We got into Athens at 1 in the morning and got to this house that was empty. We dropped our bags and went out for some nightlife. At 5 am, we returned to a house with over 20 couch surfers! It was insane, like a hostel, but ten times better. This was the master hoster. I had such a wonderful time that I continued to surf in Rome, Nice, Marseilles and Paris. I had hosted 2 friends while I was living in Istanbul, and look forward to surfing and hosting many times more in the future.

Interests

People, ideas, sensual pleasures (food, baths,) small luxuries (bamboo sheets) and creating atmospheres. Architecture, reading, taking in new sights and sounds. Cooking, I love to cook. And I love to host dinner parties, if you're ever in my area!

Music, Movies, and Books

Shantaram, suggested in a hostel in Budapest: loved it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming in an ancient, abandoned, derelict, though still standing and functioning, Roman bath in Turkey. The frigidarium was covered in mud and had turtles swimming in it. But after crawling through the gunk the hot bath was sooo amazing!

Teach, Learn, Share

Always be open to and aware of the world around you, its people, places and happenings.
I've learnt that its the people you are with who will play a pivotal role in colouring your experiences.

Countries I’ve Visited

Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom, United States
