About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To broaden my view of the world, study and analyze different cultures, religions and mythologies and incorporate pieces from all of them into my own philosophy of living. I also like cake.
PHILOSOPHY
To deliver what would be otherwise a complicated and ever-changing system of thoughts, in a nutshell, it would be something like this: I always try to see the best in everything. Every experience in the past is useful and I can learn something from it, and it contributes to the exact moment and stage I'm currently in. It is important to accept the flow of life and to enjoy the current moment, maintaining the enjoyment from the current very moment always, so it can build to everlasting peace of mind. As much as there is corruption, brainwashing, mind control and unfairness in life, I hold peace in my mind, trying to be rid of fear and envy, and have the belief in myself and to the fact that actually, everything is possible.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well since my first positive experiences I can't help but recommend CS to everyone I think would be suitable CS-ers. I would like to host and share my hospitality really much, but I guess this has to wait until I get a living place with more room and some actual sleeping places...
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far, I have had only very positive experiences. Countries where I CS-d as of now are Iran, Turkey, Jordan, UK, India, Australia, Georgia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Thailand, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Looking forward to meeting CS-ers everywhere else, and of course, also in the aforementioned countries for a second time. Especially Iran. Man, I love Iran :)
Interests
My interests are travelling, history, geopolitics, different cultures, religions, mythologies, philosophy, human psychology, cycling, reading, listening/watching and analyzing music and movies... actually I can get interested about quite anything. But the above ones are the ones I have this special spark for.

Music, Movies, and Books
Although I have an open mind when it comes to music, I am most of all possessed by metal. I listen to most of its sub-genres and am constantly searching for both cult bands from the 80s that are largely forgotten now, and new, innovative bands that are pushing the boundaries of the genre. The other genre without which I couldn't imagine myself is classic prog rock (think Yes, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Camel, Marillion, Rush, King Crimson, Emerson Lake & Palmer etc.). But I am interested in all genres as long as the music is well composed and has a special spark to it.
When it comes to movies, I like a wide array of them, but as a mirror to my great love of travelling, I most of all like movies in which an epic journey is involved, with incredible vistas of marvellous landscapes and sublime monuments. But I like pretty much evertyhing else too as long as the movie has a captivating plot, good acting and is artistically impressive. I find most comedies dull though, if i want to have a good laugh, I watch some new Hollywood blockbuster action movies or über-cheesy 80s testosterone action movies and I will literally choke laughing (I like to do this once in a while). All things considered, those are some of my favourite movies: Lord Of The Rings trilogy, The Fountain, A Clockwork Orange, Andrei Rublev, Lawrence Of Arabia, Mihai Viteazul, Solyaris, Full Metal Jacket, The Man Who Would Be King, Avatar, The Message, Baraka, The Wicker Man (original version of course, but the one with Nicholas Cage is so bad it's a perfect comedy), The Departed, Der Untergang, Easy Rider, Apocalypse Now etc. I'd be happy to watch a movie or two with my hosts or guests.
When it comes to books, I like to read about religions and mythologies a lot. Buddhist texts inspire me a lot. And although mahayana and zen buddhism are the closet to my heart, I like to read about all religions, from christianity, islam, hinduism and buddhism to zoroastrianism, germanic paganism and siberian shamanism. And as history in general is my subject, a lot goes on this topic too, as always I can't narrow my selections and just read about everything. On psychology, I really like Ken Wilber and his view on transpersonal psychology and integral worldviews. I read fiction less, authors that come to mind at first are Hesse, Remarque, Bulgakov, Lovecraft, Marquez, Borges.
Recently (2021) I have been reading about geopolitics a lot.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Finding it pretty hard to narrow it down to just one.
Teach, Learn, Share
I will absorb everything you throw at me :) I'm not a good teacher of practical things, but hopefully you can take away an inspiring thought or two from talking with me :)
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can definitely share a lot of stories and knowledge, but it is a tradition to also bring some groceries and cook something. If I am on a shorter trip I can bring hosts something from Estonia. Every host gets a free tour of the highlights of Estonia when they visit me back :)
