About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to make music and machines and music machines and fix broken things.

ABOUT ME

These things are hard to answer. I'll just go ahead and tell you a few things that I think are true and you can assemble the pieces from there:

I think landmarks are totally boring.
I think good conversation is an equal mix of one part heady forays into the abstract with one part bullshitting and silliness.
I think that there has not yet been one moment in my life where dropping everything and going for a walk in the park wouldn't have put things in better perspective.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that it is impossible to have a coherent or self-consistent personal philosophy and so I'll pretty much just take things on a case by case basis.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, surfing, and hanging out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived in a house where we had a collective CS account and I loved it. During that year or so, we mostly hosted, and I think we showed a lot of people a great time in Saint Louis (see for yourself on DeGiverville's account, a friend of mine below, any references from July 2008-June 2009 concern my time there).

Interests

The enduring ones: music, mostly the writing and playing of; computers, mostly the theory and programming of; bicycles, mostly the riding and repairing of. Other stuff too, but writing out an exhaustive list is really missing the point here, I think.

Music, Movies, and Books

Nah, I think it's dangerous to get those things tied up in your sense of identity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I've watched C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. ...just kidding. Probably the most striking thing I've ever seen is the Rocky Mountains looming to the West as approached from Wyoming on I-25. And I've seen some good sunsets, I guess. It's not hard to make anything amazing if you're thinking about it in a certain way.

Teach, Learn, Share

Music theory of all kinds. Programming. Math, I guess.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, France, Spain, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
