I love animals, nature, science, the environment, travel - local and international, and being outdoors. I really enjoy connecting with people who can hold a conversation and make me think about things from a different perspective. I love learning, so talking to people who can share various bits of knowledge about history, travel, culture, art, music...whatever...always have a lasting impact :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been a member forever but during CS's early days it was a bit hard to use and I neglected my presence on it. Now I am looking to use it more to connect with awesome people and make friends all over the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to read! some faves include the Dark Tower series by Stephen King (and lots of his other books are great too), the Reality Dysfunction series (SF by Peter F. Hamilton), and Aztec (by Gary Jennings)

movies: the diving bell and the butterfly, the fifth element, dawn of the dead, 28 days later, hitchhikers guide to the galaxy

music: red hot chili peppers, the black keys, death cab for cutie, muse, gorillaz, thievery corporation, alt-J, crystal castles, the white stripes, incubus, coconut records...among many, many others - I love a broad range of music and I am constantly finding new tunes that I like (and I love being introduced to new music!)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Got to work in Antarctica (around Ross Island) as a field assistant to a scientist studying Adelie penguins.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am an enthusiastic "teacher" in anything biology, zoology, ecology, marine biology and conservation. I am also an avid birdwatcher.

I'd love to learn how to sail...my boyfriend recently purchased an old 27' Hunter Tall and its been a while since he's sailed and I know nothing about it!
