ABOUT ME

I think I've an inquisitive mind, and a regard for good ideas and trying to get to see things in their transparency. I enjoy the company of those who cherish this, but I too enjoy just hanging with people that are funny and jovial. I'm always up for trying the cuisine of many cultures! And as many of the couchsurfers here have expressed, traveling has significantly shaped my life and it continues to do so.

Increase empathy and understanding, and try to be of service to others (although sometimes more in principle than in fact; but hey, that's what references are for, right?)

I'm just literally starting to do this, so I look forward to all aspects of the experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Best TV ever in "The Wire", "Curb your Enthusiasm" and "Extras" (yes!) Plato's dialogues, Aristotle and the holy trinity: Hegel, Kierkegaard and Heidegger.

Catch-22 as the best American novel (easy one). Dostoevski, some Kafka, most Shakeaspeare ... "Son Cubano ("Salsa") music rules! (As does dancing) Into most of Mozart, ALL of Bach, some Beethoven, a bit of Beatles and 60's Rock. Anything Kubrick, most Cohen brothers, a bit of Eastwood.
