Ionuț is the director of Filos publishing house (the main component of Filos Group, centered on the fields of contemporary history, photography, travel, arts or belletristic).

He has organized international events in Romania and he is interested in contemporary history. He is an authorized researcher in contemporary history, initiating numerous events on this subject. He is also the co-founder of a few NGOs in Romania and collaborator with different institutions and organizations from this area of interest. Publisher, amateur photographer, graphic designer, PR and marketing manager, Ionuț has also organized photo expeditions in Romania and abroad – due to his interest in promoting less accessible places to most of people. Ionuț is involved in promoting the Romania’s image around the world.

Ionuț has initiated and developed a lot of cultural projects and activities in last years (summer schools, public debates, conferences, concerts, theatre plays, books or movies launches etc). The founder and director of the Bucharest Photofest (the largest international photography festival in Bucharest, Romania).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

They say that whoever is determined to travel is inspired by a majestic understanding of life and has a strong desire to accumulate knowledge. Each of us is a traveller. Travelling is rooted in human nature. I have travelled as much as I could, making the most of the few days off I had as an employee in various multinational corporations I worked for, or as coordinator of the many projects I have run in recent years. I haven’t seen many places, but I have had quite a few adventurous experiences. They all showed me how easy it is to dare to be free, to dare to be independent. That is why I founded Filos Group in 2010 and I have been involved in various projects that nurtured me and, in turn, have nurtured others – I hope so, at least. Filos Group was founded as a result of a serious interest in culture. I just wanted to provide a professional framework for the cultural activities I organize: book editing, special events, graphic creation and design, photography or photo trips. My short trips have been the natural consequence of my many readings on some of the greatest civilizations or world religions. My journeys, my experiences, as well as my writings reflect my own quests. I do wish to go on this way. A trip may not represent the real purpose of one’s life, yet it is a wonderful symbol of coming to terms with our own soul.
