ABOUT ME

I'm happy and positive and like people.

I'm older than the typical couchsurfer. I worked as a librarian for twenty years, then did a year of volunteer service in Montana, US. After that, I worked for Lutheran and Unitarian Universalist churches for a dozen years. I'm retired now, live cheaply, and have a lot of time for friends. I used to sing in a swing trio, led a walking group, and am active in politics on the local level.

For the past twenty or thirty years, I visited a different country each year, often with my sister. I've been to much of Europe, also India, New Zealand, the Middle East, a bit of Africa and Central America.... I always enjoyed going from sleeping in a tent to spending the next night in a mansion.

I am happy to host you in my guest room, show you around my town--it has many homes that were built before 1700--or hang out with you at our world-class beach.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed with hosts just a few times. They were very welcoming, and one showed extraordinary hospitality. So I have good role models. And I’ve hosted five individuals/couples/families.

Interests

I love my adopted town of Ipswich--its marshes, beaches, woods, and fields are great for kayaking, swimming, x-c skiing, and hiking.

I like indie films and dancing to live music.

Went up in an microlight aircraft over African bush country, seeing zebra, etc.
