About Me

I'm 22 and I work as a translator in Kyiv, Ukraine. Languages and literature are things that I am passionate about, along with music and travelling. My other interests include indoor rock climbing and sometimes running.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found that meeting people during travels is one of the greatest things in it, and that it gives you a better understanding of the culture you are discovering.

I've also found that trying to actually connect with people and look for a host who interests you and who you'd really like to meet is the way to go to enjoy your trip even more. So if you're just looking for a place to crash and don't read profiles, I won't host you. Just find a hostel, there are plenty of cheap ones in Kyiv.

Interests

Many things. I do bouldering (indoor rock climbing), and though I'm not very good at it, I enjoy it, as it's an exercise that is both physical and mental. You need to actually think through your every move. It's very engaging.

I also play the guitar a little bit, mostly to myself, singing along (my old roommate used to hate it, so thankfully I live with my best friend now, so it's okay). I am also learning French.

I also dance Lindy hop (which you will probably need to google), and it's tones of fun! I can teach you a bit.

Music, Movies, and Books

I would say that my favourite genres of music are rock, indie-rock, indie music in general, alternative. Recently I've been to an Imagine Dragons concert, and it was one of the coolest experiences!

Books is a tricky question, as I've read more than I can count for my uni literature class, from the Greek mythology to contemporary writers. Ray Bradbury is one of my all-time favourites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking around Ukraine without a precise plan last summer, meeting wonderful people on the way, couchsurfing all the time.

Working on a volunteer project in France.

Spending most of my money on travels (yes, I think that's amazing; sue me).

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Moldova, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Spain, Turkey

Countries I’ve Lived In
