About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To give myself to others and the world

ABOUT ME

Hi! I am a young student experiencing the world with fresh eyes so that I might have a role in transforming it. I grew up in sunny San Francisco on the west coast of the USA and attended university around New York on the east coast. I now find myself in London doing a masters' degree after a whirlwind of travel through China and nearly every country in Europe.

To describe myself in truer terms, I am this moment unfolding beautifully :)

PHILOSOPHY

Life is amazing once you stop needing reasons to do things. To live from what is possible, and not just what is reasonable, is the paragon of existence.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently still a student and have little to share with others but myself.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only surfed once so far, but it was a phenomenal experience I wouldn't trade for anything. If a hotel is a way to secure comfort, couch surfing is a way to embrace life in all its diversity and unpredictable magic.

Interests

I've found almost everything in this world interesting. My favorite sports include volleyball, where I play at the national level in Great Britain, and running, where I run marathons across Europe and the USA. I love any kind of adventure, but it physical (skiing, rafting, hiking, ATVing) or social (good parties, good friends). I love good alcohol with a particular passion for wine (California of course), beer (Belgian is uniformly incredible), and Scotch. I also love to dance, with a particular passion for salsa and swing. I balance my life with healthy doses of meditation, reflection, and reading.

Music, Movies, and Books

Just about everything has something to teach each us. For music, I am currently immersed in Sigur Ros, the Polyphonic Spree, and Sibelius' symphonies. For movies, I love silly comedies like Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle, musicals like Singing in the Rain, and epics like Star Wars and The Lord of the Rings. For books, I read Harry Potter and Dan Brown for fun but love diving into Neitzsche, Hofstader, and Kierkegaard for all out intellectual awesomeness. I also am a huge fan of the Final Fantasy series (10 is my favorite), the Crono series, and Metal Gear Solid for games.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran the New York City Marathon. The best achievements change your beliefs of what is possible.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a passion for language and love to teach English and learn bits from other tongues. I also studied Cognitive Science at Yale and Decision Science at the LSE, so I hope I can bring clarity to others' minds and choices.
