About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Eating eight ferrero rochers in one minute, because that must be possible, right?

ABOUT ME

I am a fun person, I love to laugh and chat and ... People say I have a tendency to being loud, but no worries, I can be quiet and just smile and enjoy. I like eating strawberry cake, blowing dandelions, walking through leaves in autumn, playing jungle speed without getting too fanatic and ending up hurting myself :)

PHILOSOPHY

"There is never an excuse not to eat pie." - Hannah Bestow

And because life philosophies tend to come from famous people:

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough." - Mae West

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been to a CS meeting in Valladolid, Cork and Ghent
I have surfed in Lille, Scotland (Glasgow and Edinburgh), Cork and Liège

I have only hosted twice as I never had much space in my student pads.

Interests

I like to read, preferably in the sun, with a cool drink nearby, but I enjoy it also when it is raining and I'm inside, alone, with my book. Living in Belgium, the latter occurs most of the times :) I also like to dance, listen to music and going out with some friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

Still my absolute favourite book is my upside down book, wich is 'Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close' from Jonathan Safran Foer. It made me laugh and made me cry, as a good book should.

In movies, I have 3 favourites because they just make me so happy whilst I'm watching it: Love Actually, Amélie Poulain and old-time favourite Mathilda.

And as far as music goes, I lóve music that I can sing along to, despite my incapability of hitting the right note

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- I was at an Irish student party and went into one of the rooms to go look for my coat. All of a sudden some people hurried in, locked the door behind them and started singing Irish folk songs. Then someone found a fiddle under the bed and started playing while the others began dancing! I couldn't but tag along and by the end I was twirling over the floor like a professional Irish folk dancer ;) I found it amazing that áll of these students knew the lyrics and the appropriate dance moves! Definitely the best party I was held "hostage" in!

- Playing jungle speed on the main square in front of the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela was a great experience as well. We had a lot of room to run around and express our competitiveness. I consider this one of my anti-dementor moments; the memory perks me up when I feel down

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn how to cook better and get inspired by other people's cooking

I like sharing books to read, films to see and artists to check out, so tips are always greatly appreciated :)

I don't have much to teach you, besides maybe embarrassing dance moves -that are great fun to do, I swear :)
