ABOUT ME

I'm a Turkish scientist to-be, focused on social psychology and neuroscience. I'm not extremely outgoing, but I wouldn't call myself shy either. I enjoy meeting new people and listening to their stories, as well as getting to know new cultures. When I'm not working, I like being immersed in arts. I especially like attending film festivals, going to museums and concerts.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

The first time I heard about surfing, I have to admit that I had my doubts. After logging in to this website all shattered! All these people who are offering couches even if they have children made me 'restore my faith in humanity'. I'm from a big city where people can turn out to be hostile so this will be an amazing experience for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

As a student living in a teeny tiny dorm room I didn't have any chances to host anyone. However, I really enjoyed my surfing experiences so far and I love having the chance to meet so many interesting people from all over the world.

Intereses

I was introduced to love sci-fi in the past years so I'm now trying to fill my lust on the topic. I also am trying to get into horror movies, so these days I'm trying to watch the classics. I like watching movies and reading books as everyone else. I also enjoy talks about philosophy, neuroscience, music, movies and psychology. I also try to shoot with my Lomo -which turns out to be a waste of money sometimes- and I really like it because of the feeling of spontaneity that it adds to whatever you shoot. I also have a huge digital SLR that I don't really like carrying around but it's nice to spend time trying to get the 'best shot'. I also try to get better at drawing with ink, and like sketching with a pencil to ease my mind.

Música, películas y libros

Just like anyone I have a diverse music taste. I enjoy from psytrance to classical music. Unfortunately I'm not really into brutal vocals but can stand it for a short period of time.
In terms of movies, Kim Ki Duk, Polanski, Trier, and Haneke would be the first directors that come to my mind when I think of my preferences but I also enjoy watching sci-fi -sometimes especially the old quirky ones!-
For books, I'm trying to finish all the classics. I usually read a few books at a time. I read whatever genre I feel like. I usually have a book that soothes my mind -easy to read-, and other ones that can teach me about history/philosophy/science/religion whatever I am interested in at that moment.

Seeing more than 20 falling stars in one night, just before a big earthquake in Turkey; every morning that comes after a night spent out, the cleanness of the air.
