Overview
About Me
I'm a doc in cognitive science, which means I usually travel for boring meetings, conferences, and summer schools. Now and then, however, I enjoy travelling for the sake of travelling.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Newbie couchsurfer because I recently rediscovered my old need for solo travelling. I want to learn as much as possible from other travellers, and get the most out of places I visit.
I also enjoy going to some local CS meetings and events.
Unfortunately there's not enough space for surfers at my place, unless you can sleep over a wooden chair.
Interests
Research and writing are my world. So in order to avoid boredom I collected any sort of passion over the years. Two of them, however, seem to endure longer: photography and drawing (both of which I practice a little bit). If you have any passion, no matter how kinky or silly, I'd be happy to hear about it.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like when I find out some kind of music I've never heard before, for instance music made by converting protein sequences, or by translating tree rings. However, I prefer to listen to Nina Simone, Nick Cave, Beastie Boys, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys, Talking Heads, and The Stone Roses. Oh and I'm in love with Public Service Broadcasting.
Movies: Fight Club, La grande bellezza, Annie Hall, Brazil
Books: The Descent of Man by Charles Darwin, A Treatise of Human Nature by David Hume, Galápagos by Kurt Vonnegut, The Island of Doctor Moreau by H.G. Wells
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Plans and projects in my mind are way more amazing than the stuff I've done.
Teach, Learn, Share
I like both cooking and watching others cooking, so we could share kitchen secrets. And if you have children, I'd likely show them a cute game for learning evolution (adults-only version in preparation)!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I always keep a tiny little moka pot in my bag, like a good Italian girl. If you don't like coffee, you can still enjoy my company while sipping whisky. If you don't drink even whisky, then I could entertain you with philosophical conversations and scientific pleasantries (after which you'll be begging for whisky).
Countries I’ve Visited
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Japan, Mexico, Portugal, Switzerland, Turkey, Vatican City State
Countries I’ve Lived In
