About Me
Hey there! My name's Irene and I'm a very active and curious 20-year-old Spanish girl. I'm currently studying Translation and Interpreting, so I'm really into languages, linguistics, cultures, flags and everything related to travelling. One of my biggest passions is the Eurovision Song Contest, so I love music in other languages with ethnic sounds too. I also enjoy learning a lot about the world and about different cultures, so for me it feels like Couchsurfing had been waiting for me all this time. I just can't believe that there is a community that reaches you out when you want to discover the world, live real experiences and all of that with a very tight budget.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Several friends of mine recommended me Couchsurfing and I decided to try it for myself. It really must be a total experience to host and be hosted by local people thanks to whom you can learn so much... I can't wait to play a bigger role in this great community!

Music, Movies, and Books
Let's say that I really enjoy listening to several types of music. I don't have a favourite genre, group or singer, but I can say that I love discovering new music. Not only new music, but traditional music. As I mentioned before, I'm in love with the Eurovision Song Contest, so this way I also get to listen to music in different languages and with different sounds. I also love when it comes to traditional music and dances from a country.
About films and series, let's say that my favourite type is science-fiction and dystopia, such as Avatar and Black Mirror.
I also love boardgames. For me, it's more than a social event. I really enjoy playing them.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every time that I think about it I just can't help but think how could I be able to do such a thing... Well, I've been Au-Pair in Sweden taking care of an autistic child when I was only 18 years old. To be honest, I don't regret it fully, since I grew a lot personally speaking, but I wouldn't recommend it to a 18-year-old person in my same circumstances.
Teach, Learn, Share
I basically love both teach and being taught. I'm that kind of person that loves hearing personal stories and talking about several and deep topics, because I learn a lot and I can get to open a bit more my mind.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I wouldn't say that I'm a superskilled person, but I could help my hosts in every need they may have regarding housework, dishes, cooking... If they are interested, I could also teach them a bit of Spanish or at least to show them how's Spanish way of life and how we enjoy it. It's life giving!
