About Me
Hey! I'm Irene, a Basque girl currentlyliving in Madrid
I was born in Bilbao, a small but nice city located in the north part of Spain. Yes, were this strange and weird language called Euskera / Basque comes from.
I study my architecture degree here in Madrid. It's a completly different atmosphere but I love the fact that moving there let me open my friends circles, help me meet new and really varied people and start raising my interest in many issues and fields.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
That's the main reason why I love traveling and meeting new people in a "non-touristic" way. Meaning with that just going to an hotel and consuming the city without living it. That's why I decided to give a try to coachsurfing as it's a more direct way to meet local people and also people coming by with similar interest of discovering new cultures, different people and points of view.

Music, Movies, and Books
Right now I'm really obsessed with "distopia" topic. Therefore with books such as 1984, Brave new world, Fahrenheit 451..., or tv series related to this topic just like the now so famous Black Mirror.
Another authors/writters: murakami, Jack Kerouac, Stieg Larsson, Orwell, Huxley... and of course George R Martin!
I also like informative texts about topics such as architecture, antropology or sociology. I enjoy reading articles of different topics and opening my mind to new issues.
I listen to different genders of music from classic rock, indie, ska, basque music, techno, spanish ans south american singers-songwritters
Film directos I like/admire: Sorrentino, Tarantino, Wes Anderson, Xavier Dolan, Spike Jonze, Lars Von Trier...
(One recent film I saw and I loved was "The Lobster")
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing thinks i've done was a group trip of one month throw Morocco. I stayed in a Bereber twon to learn their culture and share their lifestyle.
