Hello,

My name is Irene, 21 years old from Norway. I just finished a year at Université Lumière Lyon 2 where I studied french (level B2).

As a person I would like to describe myself as curious, creative and open-minded. I am truly fascinated by the world around me and cultures different than my own. This is the reason why I moved to South-East India (Pondicherry) the fall of 2017 to study Peace and Conflict for one semester. The latter part of the program was completed in Nepal. Studying abroad and encountering a completely different culture to what I am used to, gave me a deeper understanding of the diversity and some of the challenges in today’s world.

Besides from travelling I have a passion for photography. It is through a combination of encountering culture during my travels and documenting the culture, emotions, colours and daily life through my camera lens that I have developed an interest for human diversity. This is also the raison why I plan to start studying social anthropology next year.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did 6 months of travelling in Asia in the fall of 2017/ spring 2018. I travelled alone half of the time, a truly inspiring experience.
