About Me

My name is Irene, I am 20 years old and I live in the beautiful town of Bad Dürkheim, Germany.
A wonderful city between the Palatinate Forest and lots and lots and LOTS of wineyards :) Bad Dürkheim hosts the 'Bad Dürkheimer Wurstmarkt' every year, the biggest wine festival in the world!
You can easily visit cities like Mannheim, Kaiserslautern or even Heidelberg by train as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing seems (to me) to be the perfect way to explore new countries and getting in touch with foreign cultures! :)
Instead of living in hotels or appartements, you can stay with locals that can show you their country and hometown from their own point of view, what makes it so much more interesting and real.

Interests

Baking and cooking (& exploring new recipes from all over the world)
baking has really become my passion troughout the last few years. I love to prepare costumised cakes and other baked goods for friends (or sometimes clients) and I'm always excited to try new food on my trips and to get inspired by the countries i visit. I also like to experiment with foreign spices and
ingredients to create something new :) Food connects people! And I love that aspect about it as much as the yumminess :P :D

Music, Movies, and Books

Rudimental (both albums are amazing!)
Parov Stelar (he is a goood. and I also like electro swing in general) :)
Ed Sheeran
Michael Buble
Ben Howard
I actually listen to music depending on my mood. But the artists I mentioned above are always great :)
I also like bigbands and brazzbands performing jazz, swing, funk.. cause I played the saxophone myself for 10 years:)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Beeing 'on top of the rock' at night (NYC)
Climbing a mountain over 3000m (Italy)
Seeing the traditional Bonfire in Hanover
Eating ice cream from the official world's best ice cream shop (Valencia)
Visiting the world's largest wine festival every year (Bad Dürkheim)
Watching a solar eclipse and a bloodmoon
Beeing vegan for 10 weeks to try it out
Caring about people in a retirement home and a home for disabled
Helping a duck family to cross the street

and so many more! I think it's important to see the special and amazing in everything we do, regardless of wether it is a amazing thing for everybody or just for you/ another person. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you speak a language (or more) that I'm not familiar with, it would be great if you could teach me some phrases :)
And I'm also always interested in food (as I mentioned earlier) ...restaurants, recipes, ingredients, spices... I want it all :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I sadly can't host anybody at the moment, but I'm looking forward to move out and then be able to give the favor of hosting people back to you guys :)
