Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
grow all the vegetables I eat and teach the world to knit!
ABOUT ME
I have 2 grown up daughters. One is just about to embark on 2nd year of travelling; this time to South America. Now have a spare room! I would be very happy to have some young visitors - could take you sight seeing in London or Cambridge but am now rather old to hit night clubs, but could cook you a good roast dinner and apple crumble and custard! I live with Rolo and Milo (cats) both very friendly and like visitors. I work mostly from home but have weekends and all the school holidays free to take you to see the famous sights of London. Or if you would like to go by yourselves can give you plenty of information on best things to see, maps, etc. I would be happy to have you stay for a couple of days. You would have your own room - it has a single bed but also a pull out bed so 2 can share. The room is small but cosy.
I live between London and Cambridge - 30 minutes on a train to either.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that if all people were just kind to each other the world would be a better place.
That for personal happiness we should take time to appreciate the wonder of nature.
And.......also have lots of fun!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I decided to participate as my daughter is a traveller and I would like to offer other young people a place to stay when they are on their travels.
Maybe one day I might go off adventuring myself and would like somewhere to stay with friendly people
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have never done this myself yet.

Music, Movies, and Books
Four Weddings and a Funeral is the type of film I like best - parts are sad, but in the end they all live happily ever after.
All kinds of music - from Bob Dylan to Handel
Just love books - from Beatrix Potter to Jane Austen
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen and done loads of amazing things!
Growing plants and vegetables is pretty amazing - take one small seed, give it water, soil and warmth and very soon it is over 6 feet high with the most wonderful flowers for bees and then later the seed head is food for the wild birds.
Have visited quite a few places - South Africa, Egypt, New York,Hong Kong, Barbados, Spain, France, Germany, Denmark, Holland......
Egypt is my all time favourite.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to teach you to knit - you could then make your own socks and jumpers! I could even teach to you spin the yarn. Gandhi said that all the people of the world should spin. I'd love to teach to how to cook some good British food - roast beef, yorkshire pudding, apple pie.
I would love to learn about your country, especially about the education system.
I would love to share my home with you for a couple of days.
