Overview
About Me
Hola! My name's Irene, and I'm a 23 years old girl, student of Journalism. I live in Madrid (Spain), even though right now I'm living in Belgium as an Erasmus student.
I love learning new languages, cinema, series, animals, music and beer. And if all of them combine I might implode of happiness.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Right now, I'm doing it as a user of couches more than a provider. Mainly because I don't have my own place yet, but as soon as I have it I will for sure offer it to travellers from anywhere.
The reason I got in couchsurfing? Three reasons: travel, people, money. I love love love travelling, but I don't have a lot of money (one might even say I don't have money at all...). So when I heard about this amazing website that allows you to stay in the house of people from everywhere, meet them, talk about everything and anything, and hopefully have a local guide for the city, I-WAS-IN.
Also, because I'm 23 and I want a bit of adventure! I want to take my bag and go for a weekend to somewhere in the world without having to plan for weeks, save money and all that boring part :)
Interests
I mentioned briefly before, but i love films and series, drinking beer, trying new foods and flavours, listening to music, hiking...and basically having fun and learning, that's all I ask for.

Music, Movies, and Books
Ok, let's start.
Music: lately I've been listening to The XX, Marea, Bloc Party, Beyoncé's new album, Phantogram, Marea, Bombay Bicycle Club, Chvrches, Nacho Vegas, Joan Baez. It changes from month to month. The only one that remains and will remain forever is Oasis (love that group to infinity)
Books: Harry Potter, La voz dormida, Persépolis, any Joe Sacco novel, Angela Davis, The rules of attraction, The silence of the lambs, White Oleander.
Movies: The silence of the lambs, Groundhog Day, Another Earth, The Bone collector, Ferris Bueller's day off, Wag the dog, Lost in Translation, All the President's men, Todas las canciones hablan de mi, Almodóvar (Volver and All about my mother are my favourites)...and many more, seriously. This list would go on and on.
Shows: The Office, Utopia (such a good show), Bob's Burgers, Orange is the new Black, Muchachada Nui, The Hour, Parks and Recreation, Seinfeld...and any BBC show ever made.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once saved a little girl that was going down a hill with rollerskates and couldn't stop. I run towards her and grabbed her. She then hugged me and her father was thanking me for like half an hour. I felt like a hero.
Other than that, I guess another amazing thing i've done and still do is trying to be the best person I can be. It's not that easy.
