About Me

CURRENT MISSION

study and travel in France

ABOUT ME

My best friend would probably say that I have a very good sense of humor.

Interests

art. Of all sorts. Painting, sculpture, decorative arts, photography, cinematography, literature, music and all combinations of the above. I am a bit of a theater freak and I wish to be a dramatic arts director someday.
I like to spend my free time playing dummy but fun stuff with my friends, like , i don't know, badminton, cards or charades.
I am also a computer science student and I work as a programmer, but I think this computer science related occupation does not characterize me that much. Yet. I am interested in science, though, especially artificial intelligence, physics and anthropology, and I wish I could study more.

Music, Movies, and Books

The best movie I recently saw was Rosemary's Baby. Others: Cracks, The colours of the pomegranate, The Conversation, Persona, Cries and Whispers, Fanny and Alexander, Andrei Rubliov, Notes on a Scandal, Total Eclipse, Modigliani, Frida, Little Leaves, Delicatessen, Filantropica, anything by Kusturica, anything by Kubrik. The list could go on and on, the conclusion being that besides obvious masterpieces I enjoy movies with a strong atmosphere, or interesting psychological analysis or even biographical films.

I like old musicals, and TV shows like "Call the midwife"

The music list is also wide. I recently discovered an online radio, Radio Paradise, and it fits my tastes very well. Maybe you will like it too, so I'm spreading the word.

The authors that captivated me in the recent years are Knut Hamsun, Thomas Mann and Herman Hesse. I am currently reading "Phedra" in French, with the dictionary aside, so that I could practice my language skills. I hope to change my mind about Virginia Wolf after reading "Orlando", because I loved the movie, but I couldn't concentrate on "Into the Lighthouse". And I really miss something like "La rayuela".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I saw the city of Cambridge and when I met my best friends, I can't choose between the moments

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a few mime tricks, if anyone finds them useful (I took a few pantomime lessons). I can manage with a little charcoal and create something you'll probably like. I can act, play a stupid Romanian children song on the piano, but moving to more practical skills - I know an awesome recipe for lemon ice-cream, and being a Transilvanian, I know the true history beneath the Dracula legend. I would like to learn anything anyone has to teach and I find interesting or silly enough. And I really hope to exchange some great music or books or films, I always prefer to discover something new.
