ABOUT ME

Hello! Our names are Aubrey and Riah. We are a young married couple living in Northern Pennsylvania. We live on 300 acres of rolling hills, fields and woods. we have access to hike and ride our horses on thousands more that neighbor us as well.
We are an active couple and enjoy skiing, and ice hockey in the winter and hiking and camping in the summer. We built our own house the year before we got married. We had help from both of our families, but most days it was just the two of us working away building our dreams. We love cooking and trying new cuisine. We enjoy playing music as well. Aubrey plays guitar and Riah plays fiddle. We both play in a little local band that preforms at local coffee shops and music festivals.

PHILOSOPHY

We are firm believers in treating others as you would like to be treated and have tried our best to live out our lives on that and honesty. We try our best to help out others in need, to lend a helping hand. We love people and the experiences that they bring into our lives. We lead simple hardworking lives that we love and are proud of. :)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hope that by hosting people that we can enrich the lives and experiences of the travelers who pass through our door. We have loved staying with people when we are traveling, and hope that we can extend that to others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have stayed with people independently of couch surfing, but have not had the pleasure of staying with one of their members yet.

Interests

We love life! We enjoy meeting people, hiking, skiing, cooking, playing music, bonfires, museums, arcticecture, we love having pizza parties, volleyball and fires at our house to get the community together. We love sports and music festivals. canning, preserving, building, gardening. Im sure there is more that I am not thinking of....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I think the one amazing thing that stands out to me right now, is the building of our house. We started the October before we got married. cleared a road, poured a cement pad and started building. It was hard work, we worked all day everyday for months,and the snows came early that year. but we plodded along. It tought us so much about perserverance, and dedication. We loved it. Most days it was just the two of us. day in day out. It really tought us a lot about eachother. teamwork. putting eachother first. We wouldn't trade it for the world. Everyday we would go out in the morning and shovel the snow off our house so we could keep building. It was great. Two days before Christmas that year we put the roof on and called it good till spring. In the spring we picked right back up and finished it enough to move in two weeks before our wedding. :) We decided to get married there on our property with our new house.

Teach, Learn, Share

We hope that we can enrich peoples lives in the way that others have enriched ours. So many people have taken the time over the years to show us different skills from sewing to building to raising cattle to gardening. We love spending time with the "old timers" they always have something wise to impart on you. they see the world through different eyes. People have been very willing to teach us and our hope is that we can impart some of that to the people that come into contact with us.
