Overview
About Me
Born and raised in Alaska, I do seasonal fisheries management work in remote camps during the summer and fall, and travel during the winter. Open, outgoing, low-maintanence, friendly, sunshine of a person. Currently traveling in South America until April. Up for trying (almost) anything at least once!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When I'm out: To meet locals rather than just fellow travelers, get advice on things to eat and places to see, have some company on my solo travels, and learn more about the places I'm visiting.
When I'm home: To meet people who've managed to get themselves as far as Homer, Alaska, introduce them to some of the things that make Homer and the surrounding area special, and hopefully instill some of the love and wonder I have towards this place. To provide a safe space for people who want to relax, go on an adventure, or just take a break from their regular lives.
Interests
I've been skiing, hiking, fishing, and riding horses my entire life. Getting outside is something I try to do every day. That being said, I also enjoy sitting inside with a good book, or a knitting project and a movie. I play Pokémon GO most days, and am always down for a Raid battle or a trade! Dancing happens everywhere, whether at home, at the store, or out at the bar.

Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty much all music, but focusing on pop, classical, Latin, and alternative.
Almost all movies, with preference for action/adventure, crime solving, romantic comedy, and Disney/DreamWorks animation.
All time favorite book is Howl's Movie Castle by Dianna Wynn Jones. I adore high fantasy above all other books, but honestly, I just love to read. Getting more into audio books lately, as knitting while reading is just about impossible ;)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How am I supposed to pick just one?! There are just so many wonderful things out there!
Pods of orcas, breaching humpback whales, calving glaciers, fighting bears, the Turnagain Arm tidal bore, bioluminescence covering a swimming sea lion, northern lights, a mother moose chasing bears up a tree away from her calf...
Swimming with icebergs, standing in my Scottish family castle, aerial silks on a bridge in the wilderness, taking a helicopter to work, hiking on glaciers, swimming with elephants, spawning thousands of salmon...
Let's make some more amazing memories!
Teach, Learn, Share
We make the world better by being our best selves, and we continue to be our best selves by learning! Currently learning Spanish, always interested in learning about new people and new cultures. Happy to teach anything that I know, and will learn with you if I don't know it yet!
