Hi friends! This account was just founded on August 2 so please bear with me while I fill my stories in! :)

Born in the Silicon Valley of China, I had an innate curiosity about technology and the outside world, which later became a determining factor of my life. Growing up in a diverse immigration city, I was exposed to various cultures and I was fascinated by technology innovations.

4 years ago, my curiosity about a democratic political system inspired me to come to Canada by myself for high school to take my destiny in my own hands. My journey was a personal “globalization” in a way that I stepped towards the world and became a global citizen. These experiences taught me to be courageous, open to diverse opinions, and have a loving heart to accept the flaws in others, which helps me overcome the unpredictable challenges in life.

My diverse experiences in trading, global consulting volunteering and technology will allow me to contribute to the understanding of globalization through providing my unique perspectives. Working on the trading floor motivated me to follow the global economic movements and political news, which amazed me about the interdependency between countries and enhanced my understanding of globalization through revealing how much influence one country can have on another.

Last summer, I organized a volunteering consulting trip (Global Business Brigade) to Panama and built a community bank for the indigenous people, which saved them the need of walking 10 km to deposit money. Having seen the global impact of my actions, I am more devoted to empowering people through financial education in underdeveloped countries.

Being highly involved in the tech start-up space, I organized the Blockchain Futurist Conference where I gathered the tech community from 50+ countries to rejoice with the same passion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As an inquisitive, trust-worthy and entrepreneurial person, it sounds fascinating that I will be able to meet people from different backgrounds and learn from each other. I am adventurous by heart and I love interacting with people to see the world in various lenses. I have so many stories where I met strangers and we either talked about life in-depth or became really good friends later on.
This is my first time joining the CouchSurfing community but I believe there will be many more to come. One day when I am rich enough to buy a house (it's expensive when you're a student trust me lol), I will turn to the other side to offer a place for travellers to sleep, talk, have fun and call home.
