About Me
Hi!
My name is Iris Persijn. I grew up in Zeeland, in a rural area of the Netherlands.
With my parents and sister we lived in a tiny village. As a child I was mostly outdoors, camping, gardening, horseriding..
I studied Sociology at Ghent University and went back to Zeeland after reaching my master's degree. As a trainee I worked as a jobcoach. Now I'm working as healthcare advisor, after I've been working for three years in a hospital and eldery care.
My first big travels where to Africa, Kenya (2008), Ghana (2013) and Morocco (2015). Last year I went to New-Zealand (2016/2017) to walk the South island by tramping the long distance trail Te Araroa. This year my travels brought me to Iceland, since I was organising the Dutch participation at the World Scout Moot in Iceland (2017).
In between I've travelling in Europe where I did stay with people I've never met before and had really great experiences in doing so.
I've always been very much into meeting people, working together and making something a better place.
Looking forward to meet you,
Greetings, Iris
