About Me

I'm Iris and I'm 23 years old. At the moment I struggle with both still studying and working as a Software Engineer nearby. Coming from Austria, of course I like outdoor activities like hiking as we kind of have a lot of mountains around here. Since I learned reading in school, nobody has ever been able to separate me from books - I love to bring one (or my e-reader) and just sit in a park for a while and read. Another hobby that I recently got into is photography. I don't consider myself a good photographer at the moment, but I'm trying to learn and it's just so much fun for me to play around with my camera!

For the next semester, I'm gonna go abroad to study in Trondheim, Norway. This is also a reason for me to try getting into the Norwegian language at the moment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing at the moment to just explore it's opportunities. I like getting to know new people and I think Couchsurfing provides various ways to do that quite nicely. And of course - I like travelling, probably like most of us around here.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not that much into music and movies (sure I listen and watch them, but not as much that I really have favorites there). But, I'm a huge (!!) fan of the series Friends - love to talk about it if anyone's up to it!

Regarding books, one of my favourites is for sure Blackout from Marc Elsberg, but currently I'm also kind of into the books of Dan Brown.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I don't really consider myself a very amazing person, but a very interesting experience for me was going on a road trip in Europe for three weeks all by myself last year. Visited Germany, the Netherlands, Brussels, Luxembourg and France during this trip. I'd never travelled alone before, so it was kind of a huge thing to do for me back then.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach both English and German to anyone interested in it. Of course I can also give some insights into computer sciences to anyone who's up to it (but I won't bother anyone who's not ;)).

I'd love to meet anyone who's also into reading books or/and photography - maybe exchange some book tips or go out together with our cameras!

Generally I also love trying new things - so I'm sure we can find something we're both into!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As said in the Teach, Learn, Share - I'm kind of good with languages, so if you wanna deepen your knowledge in English or German - I'm your girl. I can also hit you up with anything regarding the Austrian culture, of course.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Croatia, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Spain, Turkey, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
